The most surprising thing I’ve learned/realized about my new cottage garden is that I underestimated how successfully the plants would adapt and get established.
They have matured much faster than I expected, much to my delight. Now I find I must edit out some things, relocate some plants as is always the case when you are developing garden. Now, how do I garden, and try to find ways I can make it even more beautiful, more personal to my gardening style, and more easy to garden within. Please enjoy this garden stroll with me. #gardendesign #gardensurprises #gardenstyle

  • The backyard is like a safe haven, offering protection within its walls while also soothing the senses with the profusion of plants. The front yard is a jewel, shining brightly for everyone to admire, while also welcoming one to sit on the social patio.
  • I love the fullness of the garden and don’t understand people who say it’s too busy looking. I think it’s perfect how full it is.
  • @sheriw53
Your front yard is very pretty, but there is so much going on. The backyard is so peaceful and calming. It is a place of beauty and relaxation.
  • The front and back gardens are true art and beautiful. The front to me is beauty, joy and love. Hopeful. The back Is like a secret garden for private soulful times. A quiet soul at rest.
  • The back garden feels so serene and like a private sanctuary. The quiter color palette, with a predominance of green and the gorgeous hardscape all add to that serene feeling.
  • I adore your front yard, so cheerful and colorful, but I too am Team Back Yard - It’s much more relaxed, more shady, less hot, and less maintenance.
  • “Thrive it has” Everything is so beautiful. Plants have grown so fast,so green and packed with so much color. Linda you have done such a great job in placement, and arranging each plant! You deserve 6 weeks off! Enjoy your time, but don’t forget us, you will be missed! I look forward to your return “rest and ready” to get back.😊
  • Enjoy your sabbatical. You’ve been so so busy. Your health, your move, your gardens - need to rest and breathe and fill your tank. Love you all xo

Linda your garden is gorgeous. It's amazing that it's only 1 1/2 years old. It really looks like it's been there for years its grown amazingly. You have done a wonderful job. Have a lovely break 🙂
  • I enjoy your back yard garden most because it so peaceful. Each plant seems to be more defined in its own space which is more calming to me. I have copied your plant theaters because I love them so much!
  • I love all the brick hardscape and all the pots scattered around.
  • I so appreciate you notifying us before the sabbatical! Several times I have been so fond of a channel when it mysteriously disappeared and I never knew why. This was very upsetting
  • I think a mimick of your front door with the arching form and that charming round window would look great for your back gate.

Absolutely a work of art, Linda. You talk about your sister who's an artist, well so are you. The only difference is the medium you all use. You asked about why we like the back. I like it because of all the topiary everywhere. They offer personality to me. However, the whole yard is just amazing and awesome. So enjoy your time off which you deserve.
  • The view as you were walking down the steps is just lovely!
  • @blk123
The back steps are beautiful. What a difference. Oh my gosh, the topiary’s. I have fallen in love with them from watching your channel.
  • @mariemcgrath8681
I am just amazed how both front & back gardens have achieved such beauty in only 2 yrs.
