This guy can play with anybody. As technical and as fast as they want to get. Blues, check, jazzy stuff, check, chicken pickin, check, shreddin, check, etc. For people who don't know how good Richie is, I dare you to research everything you can find of him playing. It just might mess up your favorite players list and the order they are in. Phenomenal player!

Ritchie has matured so much as musician. I love this. It's hard to pick a favorite Shrapnel guy but I do love this man's music. His tone is so much better than it used to be.

When a guy plays that good, sings that good and looks that good you expect haters....

I love Kotzens tone and his stylish bluesy licks. He has proven himself to be a force in the rock guitar world.

You know that it's an old clip when he's using a strat, and a pick.

I'm wondering why there is so much dislikes below videos of Ritchie. I discovered him few months ago, before that I didn't even know that he exist and he became one of my favourite guitarists immediately. I guess that he's too good for some people and they push the "dislike" button just because they are overhelmed by his inhuman music skills. I mean... how many people are THAT good at guitar, have THAT good vocal and are THAT good in creating compositions and making songs... AT ONCE??

I've been listening to Kotzen now for bout a year. And I'm still finding " new to me " stuff of his. He's amazing. I would love to sit down on my kit and play some of those Groovin , Jazzy, R&B sounding songs of his with him.

Electric Joy is one of the best instrumental guitar album of all time!
  • The guy is truly one of my favorites. The two recordings of him with Greg Howe are just absurd. Who the heck ever thought to put those two monsters together? One of them on an album is enough to melt your brain. Two of them together is just wrong in such a good way. If you haven't heard Kotzen's first album you've gotta track it down. The thing is just stupid.

The sweep picking section from 4:07 to 4:10 its the same that Jason Becker used with the yoyo in japan. Great influence for Richie.
  • @elephantricity
amazing how someone that good at picking just drops it to go to finger style only.
  • @Taylor-kd6lr
You would be hard pressed to find anyone who can play like that and sing just as good. Truly a unique talent, and one of my top favorite guitarist. They guy has it all, and can do it all. His legato technique is the best I've ever seen.
  • @Enoskjp
he sounded like a pop star at the beggining and like a shredder towards the ends. Such a powerful combination.
