I knew this be a good video as soon as I heard the artist talk lol

This is one of the best watercolor demonstrations I have seen. You not only showed how you painted this specific scene, but more importantly you gave us an awful lot of more general information that we can put to use in our own painting. There was so much packed into this video that I took notes for future reference. I will be watching all of your videos now. The time and effort that you put into this is very much appreciated as I am a beginner and can use all the help I can get. Thank you very much.

I don’t know why youtube suggested this video. I don’t paint, can’t paint, but I still watched the entire video. Very nice!

I don't even know what to say, I am so impressed. You are a great teacher. You know what to explain or describe, and what can be omitted. Your cast shadows on the two buildings make me shake my head in amazement. I'm going to watch this video over again. Many times until it has all sunk in. THANK YOU for posting this! I hope you continue to make videos!

I've started learning watercolour in the past 4 months and stumbled across this tutorial. This is the best one yet. Finally a tutor that explains all those rookie errors we make. And thankyou for actually showing us your water jar. Its so hard to judge how much water to use when you are a beginner and so many tutorials we cant see what is happening off screen with the water! I will be telling others about your videos for sure!
  • Very generous of you to paint this masterpiece right in front of us. Thank you very much!
  • It is very generous natured of Andrew Pitt, to go to the trouble of setting up recording equipment and editing and then offering his time and expertise, skill and talent essentially for free. For the love of his subject and the benefit of the rest of us. Thank you Sir. Such actions are the stuff which demonstrates an aspect of human nature which shows that in all of the greed and madness there is still the quiet voice of sharing and sanity.
  • That murky water was giving me pause! But so many great tips, like only paint details in the light (as opposed to shadow), and making sure you connect the shadows to the figures, etc. Very brave in the sky, overall great instruction.
  • Very instructive, no nonsense tutorial without any awful music... Much appreciated!
  • What a real treasure. The sound of life experience & familiarity of using the materials. Thank you for sharing.

I love watercolours... I've never been any good at them, but I love looking at them. To me, they're far more interesting than other media. To me, a good watercolour seems to come to life in a way that no other painting does.
  • I'm rekindling my artistic side at 26 years old. This guide is very helpful! Thank you so much!

I suffer from anxiety, and I'm also quite perfectionistic so I tend to be unaccepting of my flaws and shortcomings. I feel like watercolour has the potential to be somewhat of a therapy for me, and a lesson in acceptance and letting go - being able to work fast, accept the imperfections and see the beauty in them. Thank you for this tutorial!
  • I love to watch you paint over and over for hours and love it. You are amazing and a good teacher. thank you

I can't believe how dangerous this artwork is. I love this watercolor painting, especially what you're doing. I am Ahlam from Syria and the meaning of my name is dreams in English I congratulate you with all my heart. ❤️❤️❤️

I am an absolute beginner and have watched just a few tutorials. This, sir, is the most informative and educational one I have yet to encounter. I will watch this over and over again. You are the first person who I feel has shown me how to use the water. Thank you!
  • @dez713
Those strokes are really amazing, this video deserves more appreciation!
  • Andrew, you explain everything simply and clearly, but best of all you show us your palette and water pot in action. THANK YOU! To see all that water and pigment happily sloshing around and then this glorious painting appear is invaluable, and so often left out of other demonstrations. Watercolour is challenging enough without not being able to grasp the essentials right at the start. I think most beginners would probably not have imagined so much water being used. It’s a very generous thing you’re doing with these videos, sharing your decades of learning here. Your DVD was one of the very first teaching videos I bought on my art learning journey and is still my favourite for how much information you share in it so clearly.
