  • I have never seen a tutorial with the video edited this way. I really love the editing, the way that the camera switches to the palette every time you go to get more color. It makes the feeling of immersion so much better and we are made to focus on what you are doing more clearly. Another great youtube artist(Liron Yankovsky) said in one of his videos, to people trying to advance, to watch closely to what the teacher/artist is doing with their palette. That was great advice. The only problem is that most youtube instructors tend to have either a part of their palette in the shot or none at all and the most important part(imo) is neglected and thats no good. So thank you again for taking the time to edit the way you have done. That is so helpful! I imagine it takes time to edit the video to switch shots every time you reach for your palette but those little(big) details like that are much appreciated 👍
  • I, too, love the palette work inclusion, as you paint, as well as the commentary about why you do little things along the way. I learn so much more watching you paint, re-watch it as I paint along, and watch a third time to see what I missed. Thank you for doing these!
  • Thank you Andrew. I love your style and great advice for keeping the painting fresh and not overworked. I would also love to see more videos!
  • Thank you Mr. Pitt, I really enjoyed seeing you creating such a beautiful landscape !

So glad you are showing how you mix the colors too! That's very helpful I would have loved to have seen the deckled edges when it was finished. Love that!

Love your use of viridian green, it’s so vibrant and your skies are gorgeous, excellent tutorials. Thank you.
  • Thank you for the detailed video. I, too, appreciated the switching to the palette. That was very helpful. Your advice to keep it fresh is well taken! It's amazing that you did this in under 20 minutes.

Thank you so much for an inspiring view of a gifted painter giving a watercolour life under your hand. Amazing!

I learned so much. And a treat so watch you paint in your lovely studio. Thank you.
  • Absolutely brilliant. I have seen many of your watercolours on display in Norfolk and Suffolk and their retained freshness in colour depicting the subtleties of the scene are by no means easy to achieve and always a delight to view. As an amateur artist, I have used the techniques involved for many years and yes a limited palette is so necessary. Thank you for sharing the demo and I remain yearning after lockdown to get up again to the north Norfolk Coast.

That was so serene. Light and beautiful. And it's true what you say towards the end: there is a gap between the image in your mind and what emerges on paper...slowly the gap start to close. Thank you so much 🙏

Andrew, thank you for a Master Class in putting in a loose, cloudy sky. I have been struggling for weeks to grasp this technique, and have got nowhere close to anything other than multiple messy disasters; to a point where I was almost ready to give up in frustration. Thanks to your clear and calm demonstration I feel more confident trying again. Keep up the good work, it is very much appreciated.
  • Perfect workmanship, Andrew! I really do appreciate that you change the color in every grouping of trees. Nature is random and we should paint it that way. It gives the eye something fun to look at. Thanks for sharing!

This is beautiful. And your explanations are very helpful. Thank you for sharing. I hope to see more of you.
  • I really enjoy your tutorial videos because you emphasize the exact things that i need to work on - mainly keeping things 'fresh' and not overworked.
