[Chorus:]
I bet there's rich folks eatin' in a fancy dining car
They're probably drinkin' coffee and smoking big cigars
Well, I know I had it coming, I know I can't be free
But those people keep a-movin', and that's what tortures me

  • The guitar solo is so simple it’s absurd but still one of the most iconic ever

Johnny was Rock & Roll, Country, Punk, Anti establishment, Patriotic, Gangsta, true Christian, all wrapped up in one person. Above all, Johnny was REAL in who he was. The world was a much better place when he was in it.
  • "But I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die." One of the coldest lyrics ever written.

  • My grandpa died tonight. Johnny was one of his favorites. He used to sing this song to me as we sat on his swing in the backyard as the train went by.

I’ve been listening to Johnny cash ever since I was about 3, I’m 17 now and thanks to my wonderful grandparents I know almost every album ever made by Johnny cash.
  • No matter how drunk I get, I always remember these simple yet powerful lyrics.
  • I took my time at 17, am 41 now. I'm learning that the toughest prison lies within one's own mind. Life's a trip. Never give up. Never that. Thank goodness for music that touches a person deeply. RIP, Johnny. Thanks for your service.

Johnny Cash is the ONLY musician in history to be inducted into all 3...the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, The Country Music Hall of Fame & the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Let that sink in for a minute. Johnny truly was the voice of God. Everyone is gangster until Johnny walks in the door.
  • Me and My Grandma both love Johnny Cash. She really gets a kick out of me singing his songs in my best Johnny Cash Voice. Last Summer she brought out her old Gramaphone and started playing “Johnny Cash Live At Folsom Prison” and “Johnny Cash and his hot and blue Guitar”. When my Grandma moves on, these songs will always remind me of our time listening to Johnny Cash Together.
