In this episode of The Joy of Building, we upgrade our food source by building some terraced farms! These farms are plots of land that increase in height alongside the hill. Now, we no longer have to eat sweet berries as our main food source... we've got crops!

  • Even if the underlying horror plot is real, I still really appreciate the cozy vibe. This is my new favorite series to put on while I do homework.

I realised that I am so tired of insane hardcore playthroughs with massive impossible projects. Minecraft is about... adventure. Its about... home.
  • Just what I needed to calm down after I was asked to do a bunch of different things and got a small burnout... The wholesome Minecraft player who takes his time.

This is exactly how I escaped the 2 week MC phase many are trapped in rn. I just simply stopped looking at the game as linear and slowed down. Wasnt in a rush to get all the good gear, so I started building towns, going out of my way to get things deemed unimportant, like sniffers.
  • Ive noticed that you have those shots of someone observing you from afar which nobody mentioned it in your earlier videos. I dont know if they are accidental or not but they add a mysterious vibe to your comfy videos which is quite fitting looking at minecraft with its creepy cave music! Anyway, great video as always!

Im seeing a lot of people who all are saying the same about how watching a simple world like this makes the game interesting again but my advice to all of you burnt out with minecraft is dont start a world expecting anything, go in and go slow, you dont have iron by day 5? See if you can go 10 days without it, you find a temple? Why not instead of looting it fix and upgrade it and connect it to a bigger system of roads, nothing major but something you dont normally do or even something you dont like doing, this is one of the few games i can regularly get back into even after years, you see so much stuff now that it makes you think "why cant i do that?" Then you start and realise theres only so many hours a day and stop, just give yourself big tasks you can actually finish and without copying build something that represents you, for me thats castles and villages for others it might be farms or whatever but you dont have to do this ultra hardcore stuff just to make the game fun, its fun as it is and gets more stuff added constantly, im glad people are starting to feel like i do about the game though, it can be as simple as a farming simulator if you feel like it and sometimes something as simple as a nicely put together farm is all it takes, to the guy who made this video if you see this i love the style you used i always have issues with layered farms but a nice compact one like that looks great

I got bored and couldn't find my old feelings while playing Minecraft. Normally I would just quit before I even get diamonds. But watching this video makes me want to go back and play Minecraft again. Both your builds and story-telling are so beautiful and calming. No shaders, no extreme builds, no excessive edits and effects, I forgot how long did I not watch a Minecraft video completely without clicking away. This channel is so underrated and I really enjoy the series. Thank you for bringing this masterpiece.

You can actually put a chest on your donkey instead of armor, if i remember correctly. So you can use him for exploration/ farming. Great Series so far, absolutely love it ❤

If you put the berry bushes raised up by one block you wont take damage and can harvest them all! Love the series so far

I've recently completed a terrace farm that releases water and washes out all of the crops at the press of a button and then feeds into a hopper. I've realized that I prioritized progression too much in my previous worlds so I'm just taking the game one step at a time. I've already built an entire cherry blossom village with little farms that look nice and have functionality. I think that too many people focus on netherite gear and elytras, and by the time they get maxed out enchants on the best gear in the game, the incentive to build is mostly gone. I like to see real builds like this instead of the unrealistic and 99% of the time fake builds that you see on hardcore series.

This is how minecraft vids should be, calm and relaxing just like the game itself

20:51 for the little trees, the spruce fences blend into the mountain a lot but if you use dark oak fences they’ll look like spruce logs and they’re gonna stick out more

i thought this was gonna be a video essay... but im liking the chill vibe. so much of minecraft youtube forgets the simplicity
  • @fabinhof_
it's the simplicity of playing the game and getting amazed with the small things. that's what heats my heart when I watch your videos <3
  • @li_ive1919
My comfort moment is watching this series! Thank you!
  • @RobTheMan.
7:44 man that view and sound is actually scary.. (I'm loving the series btw, u inspired me to play minecraft again)
  • I wish I could play Minecraft like this, but now since I watched way too many building videos now my builds never feel good enough
  • @PhoenixBulliner
I really have been liking this series. I'm in the process of learning game development, and I love having your videos on the side to just have someth chill going on that I can look at when I get kinda bored learning!
