She basically shows how everything's fake in Hollywood but you don't have to become the fake version of yourself or let yourself be bought by "candy necklaces" which seems to be a metaphor about stars being offered prestigious, glamorous things in exchange for their souls and eventually they lose themselves so she's showing us the behind the scenes because that's what matters. The whole process of making art is just as important if not more important than the result which could've easily been a music video like the others where we assume that everything that we see is actually what's happening when really a man's rocking the truck to make it look like she's actually on the road etc. It's brilliant.

a masterpiece, let’s get it to 100 million

Wow... She's reflecting on how others' perceptions, beauty standards, and performance of an identity wound up driving the women she was referencing to death, and making that visible to us by reminding the viewer that we're watching a production and she's performing an identity herself. Genius.

People don’t realize the art she’s giving us… for free.

This is about women who are similar to her, like Marilyn and other, who died young and fame destroyed them. They are all connected through candy necklaces. In the end you expect reporters taking photos of the dead body, and instead Lana is alive and happy, celebrating her star.

this is not a fucking era. it’s not her best. this is her. this is the mark that she’s leaving in this world. a woman, the way she want to show us. this is not part of a show.
