Netherlands are the best people in the whole world. When I’m in vacation and I make new friends there.. somehow they are always Dutch ❤😅 greetings from Germany ❤
  • @spoonetti
They (and also the Scots) are the best guests you could wish for.🤘😄 They are just happy, funny, and absolutely entertaining. Greetings from Hamburg 🍺⚽⚓⚽🍺

The Dutch love the Scots!! Our fans are great, but the Scottish fans are fantastic. Had goose bumps when the national anthem of Scotland was played. My dream is that we meet in the finals. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇳🇱

I am so proud to be Dutch. We love our country and with a tournament we all stand as one. We like a good party. 😂😂😂😂 I hope we win the cup, just as in 1988. That was so wonderful. We were so proud of our team. The Netherlands was completely orange. I never forget it.

I'm Scots, but lived in the Netherlands for 16 years. Rangers and AZ!. Was there in '88, and the whole country went bonkers. I even had my hair orange. How i hope we meet in this years Euros. It'd be a brilliant party. Love both sets of fans, truly.

The rivalry is gone. Germany is an fantastic country and a nice neighbour. In the early days, when we played against Germany, we had WWII in the back of our mind. My parents for example had to flee our occupied country. The Germans where marching through the streets and caused death and destruction. The hatred towards the aggressor was enormous. That sentiment is gone. When the Netherlands now plays against Germany, it is a healthy rivalry: 'big Germany' against the small Netherlands. Thats oke. In the Netherlands we have the proverb: Better a good neighbor than a distant friend

We all remember beating Germany in the semi-finals of Euro 88, but almost nobody remembers we beat Russia in the final to become champions that year. But it's also true that after '88, we almost collectively buried the hatched with the Germans. We still want to beat them of course, but there is no more animosity.
  • The Dutch are the best fans in all sports, not just footy. Think about Femke Bol, Max Verstappen and all those speed skaters.

The thing with the Germans is something from the past. We beat them in the euro's in 1988 and since then we get along nice. We have two main 'enemies' Spain because of the game in 2010 that can't be mentioned and Portugal. Whenever we play against Portugal, it becomes a bloodbath. And most of the time we lose against them. This European Cup we are likely to play Portugal in the quarter finals. People are already talking about it and we haven't played a game jet! 😂😂
  • Im from Nederland 🇳🇱 , you give me a good feeling with this video. Thank you very much.❤

I was there in 88. It was amazing. Hard to believe it's so long ago.

What I love the most about EU and World Cup, is the friendly rivalry the Dutch have with our neighbors the Germans. Stuff like the Dutch guy said at the end is one such example :D
  • @Blaine475
What a lovely video you’ve made - great compilation and your passionate comments and craaaazy Scottish accent pronouncing the names were fantastic! Thanks for this, really really enjoyed the small flashback with a small tear in the eye :’-) Truly hope the Scotts will pass to the next round! Don’t give up, the Dutch also lost their first match in 1988!!
  • @David-wy3dt
Your dutch all time eleven is sick! You showed some real ball knowledge there mate! Hope scotland recovers after their game against germany. GL from Amsterdam!

I've got contradicting feeling about this. I don't like football and I'm really glad my street isn't orange atm. But when I see a massive orange crowd being happy or passionate together, I feel kinda proud.
  • @maxtrein532
And we love the Tartan Army ! Greetings from a crazy Dutchman
