The stewarding at LFM as of late has been poor. Personally in my races and through watching others, I have been left very confused; now more often than not. I’ve been given the most illogical and contradictory justifications for their decisions. I don’t know if they’ve been confused by constant discussion, discourse, and exception making. I do know that they have veered away from enforcing the simplest most globally known standards of fair racing. They need to do better. As for "stewarding isn't always perfect", fine, but it should at least be aligned with driver expectations and remain as consistent as possible. If there is no objective fault to an incident, then let it go. Let the drivers manage those margins in their racecraft.

That's a racing incident because both cars are driving towards each other at the moment of impact and both cars could've done more to avoid it equally. But it makes little difference because the end result was pretty meh so we move on. Better luck next time, I'm absolutely sure of it this time! 😁

I would say that it's rather a racing incident. Is penalty done right? I would probably say no. But if you are trying to understand who made a mistake, then I wouldn't blame Castorino. Here is why: you can say I left the space, but he left significantly more space on your left. You both approached each other from different sides, but while he moved half a meter left, you moved again significantly more to the right. Honda in front is not a good indicator because he as well as you is not obliged to follow Honda exactly, it's a very strong assumption that he won't go beyond Honda even 10-20 cm. Honda is in a different position, in front of you longitudinally. So Honda is closer to the apex which means that it's closer to the inner side laterally than the cars approaching apex from the rear relative to Honda. So it's expected that Castorino is a bit more on the left laterally than Honda (because Castorino is further away from the apex). But again it rather looks like a racing incident and from my point of view is probably not worth the penalty. Good luck in the next races!
