Mario is Evil. Bowser is misunderstood. Boo is just a piece of fluffy cotton candy. You've heard me say it all before... okay, well maybe not that last bit. Needless to say, the Mushroom Kingdom isn't always so black and white. The characters representing good and evil aren't always so crystal clear. But there IS one man in the Mushroom Kingdom that is straight up Evil. A man that is so driven by personal greed, there is no mistaking he is pure Evil!

Quote from E. Gadd in Luigi's Mansion 3: "Hey, Luigi! Look at that... It's money, and lots of it! Even with all the dangers here, I'm sure we agree that money is still important! The ghosts don't seem interested in grabbing it... What's the saying? 'You can't take it with you'? Well, I definitely want it anyway! Keep your eyes peeled and grab as much as you can! You know, while you're capturing ghosts and saving your friends. Multitasking!" E. Gadd even sets up a shop where he charges 1000 coins for a gold bone or other items. He seems insistent on Luigi getting his ghost collection back while consistently forgetting all about Luigi's goal of saving Mario, Peach, and the Toads. It really makes you wonder.
  • @chunkon8890
He's like that one kid at recces, who sells toys in his little "black market". Even if the bully wants something.
  • @kefrika9950
He has a point in luigi mansion 3 he doesn't care that Luigi's friends are trapped and he even says that he need to collects coins
  • Gadd is the textbook version of "I'm playing both sides so I always come out on top"
  • @LMan86
Another intriguing detail not mentioned here was also from the scene where Bowser Jr mentions E Gadd giving him the magic paintbrush. What MatPat didn’t mention is when FLUDD repeats what Bowser Jr said its voice sounds surprisingly distressed compared to how it normally spoke in the rest of the game. The way its voice sounded when it said “a strange old man...in a white...coat?” FLUDD having been created by E Gadd and created to fix the problem Gadd created himself must have really been a mind blowing thing for it. Just listen carefully to FLUDD’s tone and the way it speaks about E Gadd
  • @RippedPheonix
This makes sense because in dark moon all ur gold and coins go to E Gads safe and u don't get to keep it
  • @raphaeldagamer
Then Nintendo goes and makes Luigi's Mansion 3, setting Gadd himself up as a direct victim of the events in the game. Funny how that happens.
  • Matpat: I can die a happy theorist. Me:NOO MATPAT DON’T DIE ON ME!!
  • @STL1YOSHI
This theory felt very old-school, love it
  • Plot twist: One of E Gadd inventions told him he's in a videogame and he wanted to make it more interesting
  • @B4RR4F4
It would be so cool if Luigi’s Mansion 3 confirms this theory
  • @N3v3Off
    E.Gadd - Strategic money grab Wario - Straight foreward money grab Bowser - Conquer lands money grab . . . Waluigi - pity from others money grab ;n;
  • @pep3001
MatPat: makes entire episode about a character neither good or evil Also MatPat: "So is this character So Evil or So Good, no in between!"
  • @GTAselect
Mat: in partners in time, he's does nothing to help. Me: *looks at stuffwell
  • Do you remember that South Park episode where Cartman told two kids that the other one hates them to make them fight? That's e-gadd of the show.
  • @RJTheHero8
I think E. Gadd is Nintendo's sly way of personifying Big Corporations and how they can affect both sides of the coin. They (being the Corporations) do not ally themselves with a side or countries, they only follow where the money takes them. They play to both sides as to not make enemies. To be an "asset" to either side if one of them were to be eliminated. Just my two cents. ;)
  • @crashkojote5627
One thing: E.Gadd is not doing this out of greed, but out of a search for knowledge. He fuels fueds to finance his research. On Ghosts. Sounds to me like an old man searching for immortality.
  • E.gadd: here kid, knock yourself out, gives bowser jr. the paintbrush jr: hm..
  • @Jacob-ko2li
Okay, I actually have another theory pertaining to E. Gadd and Bowser Jr. Let me start off like this: Where did Bowser Jr. come from? Bowser has no wife. There's no Queen Koopa. And, the ending of Sunshine confirms that Peach is not Jr's mother. Nowhere in any Nintendo game is Bowser Jr. shown to have a mother. Now, search up "Baby Bowser." Baby Bowser is the grown up Bowser, just at Bowser Jr's age. Comparing the two, they look COMPLETELY IDENTICAL except for Jr's bib. What do we know now? That Bowser Jr. is physically identical to Bowser when he was a child. So, how does this work? Well, the easiest solution is obviously cloning. But Bowser is nowhere near the technological or intellectual level needed to clone himself. He also doesn't have the tools... You probably see where this is going. Well, E. Gadd DEFINITELY was in contact with Bowser at the time of Sunshine (Bowser Jr's origin). Since E. Gadd supplied Jr. with his paintbrush, is it really a stretch to say that he provided the tech to create him in the first place, using Bowser's DNA? Think about it. Bowser wants to defeat Mario in any way possible. A scientist coming up to him and offering to make him an heir (for a price) who would TOTALLY be able to kidnap Peach this time? Bowser would take that offer. This would also explain why E. Gadd just HANDED Bowser Jr. his paintbrush: he was arming his own little creation. This explains why Bowser might be awkward about his son asking who his mother was, and why he lied and said it was Peach. Now, there's no conclusive evidence, this is just the only theory I could come up with that had no obvious holes. Give it a thought.
