Boy oh boy, loyal Theorist, the Disney+ X-Men 97 show was SUCH a banger. We still can't get over how awesome it is to see Wolverine on the small screen AND on the big screen, in Deadpool & Wolverine, this summer. Now we all know the worst X-Men villains like Magneto, Apocalypse, and Sabretooth; but did you know that NONE of them hold up to the worst X-Men villain of all.... Disney!

πΏ What would your mutant power be?
-
to quote Scarlet witch "No More Mutants" literally describes Disney to X-Men
-
Magnetoβs backstory was that he was a Jewish boy who was sent to a death camp during the Holocaust, where his entire family was killed. This formed the background for what he believes and why he acts the way he does.
-
Disney absolutely tanking a show that was going well? Theyβve never done that before!
-
Disney has the same energy as the angry spoiled little sibling who canβt share, and would rather break something than give it to someone else
-
The Inhumans where not ripoffs of the X-Men until Disney. Half of the similarities came after the X-Men Purge.
-
If I remember correctly, I still find it funny that Stan Lee created the X-Men because he was sick and tired to come up with origin stories for each character, so what did Stan do? BAM!!! Mutants and that's it π
-
This would also explain why Spider-man hasn't been allowed to be happy in the comics for the last 15 years
-
The X-Men were so big at their peak, they may as well have been their own brand seperate from Marvel.
-
6:28 The fact that the x men and fantastic 4 were huge parts of Lego marvel superheroes 1 but were no where in the sequel is just infuriating
-
NO WAY!!! I COULD NEVER BELIEVE THAT DISNEY IS AS PETTY AS REVERSE FLASH!!! HOW COULD THEY BE!?!?!?
-
I love how this weeks video isn't a theory, it's sort of a mini video essay on what happened to the x-men as of late
-
"Disney is the biggest villain of X-Men" Meanwhile the Justice League: first time??
-
"To me, My Theorists"

Shareholders should NEVER be allowed a single finger on the steering wheel of creative meetings.

This is not a theory, this is just a history lesson which comic fans have known for quite a while. It's still funny how Disney fixed everything they ruined with the mutants the moment they got their hands on them. Disney didn't hate the X-Men. They just hated that such a valuable IP was owned by a rival studio.

"Some of their characters are... less recognizable." Picture of Forget-Me-Not flashes briefly across the screen. Hey, I saw what you did there, and your writers are still top-notch and brilliant.

I was wondering when Film Theory would tackle this topic. I mean, Bob covered this YEARS ago on either "In Bob We Trust" or "The Big Picture" (I forget which) and as a guest writer, it just makes sense that Team Theorist would cover this topic. And this week is the PERFECT time for it.

18:38 Lee is on the offense. Hopefully Disney doesn't get a temper tantrum and attempts to sue for defamation.
