I love how Mat is honest about having to run his business, while showing us the team is still passionate about the project and the community.

Disney hasn't been where creativity happens for at least a generation. If you look at it, every success they've had in terms of producing successful entertainment content has been a result of an aquisition, and happens to be the thing that came out before Disney inevitably squeezed it until it died.

I recently watched Aristocats (my favorite Disney movie) and forgot how PASSIONATE and beautiful Disney used to be! Even though the art style was “messy” or “sketchy”, it added much more charm and character to the film! It wasn’t just a movie to watch, it was literal ART being hand drawn frame by frame, which makes you appreciate the film even more! Everyone was unique because they HAD to be (since it was hand drawn), as opposed to the same 3D face model being used over and over again and just switching out hair or eye color. Old Disney for the win <3

Honestly the problem with Disney is they keep canceling the shows people like most, the owl house was loved by many people but they canceled because "it didn’t fit the Disney brand" and then they replace it with something they think is better like horrible reboots of old beloved shows.

To be fair, an Inside Out 2 could actually really work, with Riley getting older and everything, but I don't really have faith in modern Disney to make it actually good.

They lost sight of their journey. Walt Disney once said, “We do not make movies to make money. We make money so we can make more movies.” Disney was corrupted by greed.

Another thing that would really help Disney is bringing back classic hand drawn animation. Sure it’s costly but to me it’s what made Disney Disney. That’s where the magic was

It’s always so refreshing and nice to hear how much the theorists actually care about pleasing the audience and making quality content for us to enjoy. They truly care about their fans and their interest and every time I hear Matt explain the science and why it brings me happiness cause it reminds me that even though I’ve been a fan of this channel since the beginning, nothing had changed unlike all other channels I watched as a kid. Thank you MatPat ❤️

Disney is the perfect example of “quantity over quality”

The problem is Disney isn't trying to produce content they think you'll like. They're producing content and telling you to like it and if you don't they don't think it's their fault.

the open nature of how mat runs his business model, and his obvious in depth knowledge of the system and how it moves is really endearing. years of being a business analyst and he has no desire to hide anything from the public for profit. genuine guy.

Its so sad to watch Disney slowly die. The old disney movies used to be exciting to watch a new disney movie but now a new one comes out every 2 months.

The budget for Everything Everywhere All At Once was only $25M, yet it was an Oscar winning masterpiece. There wasn't a crazy amount of CGI in that movie because a lot of the scenes were done with practical effects, which can make it feel more authentic and genuine.

How in the world did Puss and Boots: The Last Wish, the best animated movie I’ve seen in many years, cost half of the animated crap that Disney has put out in the last few years? Disney’s mismanagement is astounding.
  • "A Marvel release used to feel like an event - like you had to be there. Nowadays, though, it's quite literally a weekly occurrence" I think that quote sums up my (and a lot of other people's) feelings about the MCU at this point.
  • Wow, I didn’t know these videos take that much money, time, and effort to make. I thought it was just you write a script, voice the script, somebody else edits it, and it gets uploaded. I now have a much greater appreciation for these videos coming out. And probably for any YouTube video made!
  • @JolieHoene
I used to be sad when a channel I like wasn’t posting much, but now that I’m older, I’m learning to respect the process more. This video also helped boost that respect👍

It’s easy to see why they’re destroying the company from the inside out. They’re inflicting more damage than any competing studio can

I think that another huge problem that Disney has is how they market their original stories. Most people who saw Elemental enjoyed the movie, but I know that the reason most didn’t go to see it in theaters (me included) was because a lot of the marketing for the movie centered around an annoying 'comedic' character. When you watch the movie, that character is in 3, maybe 4, scenes and speaks very little but his face was EVERYWHERE in the marketing. So people were like 'This annoying character is going to be in a lot of the movie, so I'm not gonna see it.' The same is going on rn with their newest original IP 'Wish'. The main marketing for it that I've seen has been the villain's song which most people don't like, but I've heard absolutely nothing else about it. I have no idea what the movie is about, even when looking on Wikipedia or Google.
