  • JK is an independent thinking successful woman who speaks out to protect other women, children & most vulnerable. She is a survivor from abuse.
  • This deserves more views, as does most of your output... Keep it up, good luck...

Imagine the disappointment one would feel after willingly compromising their principles and critical faculties to be on ‘the right side of history’ …to end up being on the ‘wrong side of history’ by doing so…
  • The word "belief" is the problem. We suspect things more than believe. Some more than others.

I think that he means American God's. Not game of thrones.

Uniquely idiotic period? A roofer can't make a living but is taxed to pay for student loans that pay for these guys ... idiotic indeed.
  • When one emphasizes the desire to be "nice" and prioritize not offending we train the brain to reject the ability to recognize the truth.
  • I love you guys ❤. On facts and faith. Peter has been teaching me about epistemology for years now. Thanks, Peter! I love his face when he’s patiently listening to garbaldeegook, mic bravely in hand. Here’s my Ode to Peter: Faith or science? Faith and science. Faith is rarely blind. Science is rarely certain. I need evidenced-based beliefs and faith, belief without conclusive proof, to function and flourish. Both have their place. My belief that my drive to work will be safe is based on evidence and faith. How meaningful is faith that a good friend is innocent despite the evidence? Might we explore both faith-based belief and evidenced-based belief with schoolchildren, without omitting or denigrating either as wholly invalid? Maintain separation of church and state by presenting the possibility of faith as valid rather than a faith as valid? Might it help if we asked ourselves and social justice warriors what we accept on fact or faith, open to the possibility that both may be valid?
  • What’s replaced Religion? That’s easy, Psychiatry and “mental health,” unseparated from the State. As Thomas Szasz coined, Pharmacracy. Thanks for letting me comment.
  • His vocabulary is impressive and he uses it well, a bit too quick for some of us. I have to rewind frequently....
  • One major hole in what he’s saying is this idea that post-modernists have turned away from/have no belief in (however you want to phrase it) ‘meta-narratives’. The very two examples that you picked of Christianity and ‘Evolution’ are problematic because there are many people that would believe the doctrines of Christianity whilst claiming evolution is false; or vice versa. It’s far more likely for any person (whether you want to call them postmodernists or not) to believe certain meta-narratives that fit within their world view, whilst leaving others alone. I don’t see what the problem with this is. I don’t think this puts you in conflict with ‘truth’ or objectivity’. If anything, Christianity, one of the meta-narratives you chose as an example, relies on faith and not objectivity. Therefore, it’s not a part of my make-up at all. But I believe in Evolution. I believe in the rule of law. I believe in common good. All of us make value judgements and subconsciously (or consciously) decide on the meta narratives we’re going to believe in, and almost all of us choose to not believe in some. I don’t think these sort of people exist who you are describing that oppose all of them and are somehow completely opposed to truth. Even the staunch pro-trans activists would still very likely believe in the meta-narrative of Evolution; they just might disagree with a few narratives that you subscribe to.
  • Societies go through periods of abundance and therefore decadence descends. ( luxury beliefs ) And periods of austerity... where values dramatically shift towards... 'survival only'. The West is currently submerged in obtuse, decadent values - because the wealthy in the West,  are super-rich. A lot of wealth trickles downwards and into society more generally. Progressives can off-set their 'concern' to others... over their own immediate survival. They 'feel' they can afford to be generous.
  • which other mammals give the power of the unit to the young and inexperienced?

I don't hate JK Rowling, she has her experiences that make her have her opinion. I've had both good and bad experiences with Trans people, because they're people, some are good and some aren't.
