  • This was a cool look back at Toonami's original run. I even forgot about some of this stuff over the years.
  • The way how you simply stated "the Golden Age" I got a big smile on my face. I remember it too well. Gowing up in the 2000s we did not know how good we had it. Toys and kids TV was at it's best.

The Dragon Ball series, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, Naruto, One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho, and a lot more made Toonami special on Cartoon Network during my childhood years through my teenage years from the late 1990s and mid 2000s.

So this just confirmed so many shows I have brief memories about as a kid...I thought I had gone crazy
  • "Toonami has spanned 25 full years" It stopped in 2008 and began again in 2012. That's not 25 "full" years.

Iron Age kid here. Moltar is MY toonami. Tom is a close second, but Moltar will always be host to me. Rest in peace, C. Martin Croker. Thanks for the memories!
  • I remembered toonami since I was a little kid and teenager. I don’t forget it at all. It was amazing time in my life tbh
  • Seeing the history of the block it's entirety makes me realize how much of a ghetto Warner Bros has created for anime on American television. Because of that Crunchyroll basically has a Stranglehold on most anime distribution in terms of streaming. It's crazy how little options there are for watching anime in the West despite such a large exposure. You basically have the few scattered shows and occasional movie on streaming services, you have Crunchyroll or the FUNimation app as the official site, or you just have to wait for it to come on Toonami. You'd figure with the success of anime on streaming you think the Legacy Media like television would stop keeping anime in this weird Saturday night ghetto and start airing it on weekday afternoons at like 5:00 or something. Things like Demon Slayer and my hero Academia have massive appeal that 14 year old audience. It was a slow transition to where Adult Swim basically started clumping all their anime together and slowly phased it out in favor of just having one night in Japanese animation. I can remember days on Cartoon Network what the more toy commercial styled anime with air on Sunday mornings and those eventually disappeared too. Sorry for going on this weird little Ranch over here I'm just a little confused at how anime on Western television has been completely phased out and this weird pseudo Monopoly that's placed on the industry and it's importation to the United States.
  • toonami is how i found some of my favorite anime like blaech naruto and Dimension W plus I loved storm hawks as a kid. truly influential to how anime and cartoons have progressed over the years

I remember seeing toonami back when it was still hosted by Moltar and it had Thundercats on it's block. That's how a 1990's kid like me got introduced to it.
  • Man toonami Changed my life as a Kid If it was for that channel ⭐ I would of never of heard of Anime
