Published 2024-01-17
Learn how to crown your guitar frets with our innovative fret crowning file. Say no to black markers, constantly checking and worrying about overfiling, MusicNomad takes fret crowning to the next level with our game-changing patent pending Safe Zone "S-File". Packed with so many unmatched features and benefits, we can't even list them all here. It starts with our safe zone innovation that has no diamond grit at the top of the arch of the channel, eliminating the chance of overfiling...YES!!! Our Safe Zone filing design reduces the fret crowning learning curve from weeks to hours. Our premium 240 diamond grit combined with the ideal filing radius design gives you the perfect cut every time. Let's talk handle design!! Our inventive blue silicone comfort grip is a breakthrough and reduces hand fatigue like no other. The offset design provides both added leverage when filing and allows you to clear the guitar body when filing over it. The S-File works amazing for crowning the most popular & widely used fret wire material, Nickel Silver, found on all Acoustic Guitars, Banjos, Ukuleles and most Electric & Bass Guitars. As with any file, using on Stainless Steel fret wire will shorten the file life. The S-File works on all fret sizes, has custom lines on the nose for spot crowning, a wide channel that is not too flat, a common complaint of other crowning files, a convenient hang hole, and so much more. Don't lose it or loan it, you'll look forward to the next time you crown your frets. That's MusicNomad quality, bringing fret care to the next level.

Impressive. I’ve saved a lot of money by learning to work on my frets. It’s also a way to get great deals on used guitars if they have sharp fret ends or buzzing. I might have to get this for my upcoming refret.

  • @kraekens
Been using 5 crowning brands and this is the best by far. Feels like cutting veges
  • @danielb5081
How do you clean the metal buildup in the diamond file grit so the packed in metal build up does not reduce the efficiency and possibly scratch the frets?
  • @erikpeterson778
Please make more of these! They are sold out everywhere 😔
  • Are you able to angle the tool while crowning in order to leave a thinner profile on the fret, or does the geometry of the tool not allow for this? I ask because the "safe", non-coated portion of the file looks a little wide.
  • @LexJones
I was going to get one of these then noticed the area that is lacking abrasive in the middle looks pretty wide, not enough grit to bring the final crowning to a pine point. Does this file require rocking and rotation to get a finished crowning, or is this more like a roughing it in file to be followed up by say the Z file?
  • @nsbomb
I bought one, I filed, worked perfectly, but now how do I polish the frets? :D
