Lennox Lewis Vs Evander Holyfield Fight 1, Heavyweight Boxing Brawl, All Highlights & Knockdowns

Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield fight 1, turned out to be a Brawling, anything goes, boxing match with both men displaying great boxing skills as well as using dirty tactics to win this fight. There was most definitely bad blood between these 2 men, between 2 All time great heavyweight Boxers.

There were some amazing exchanges throughout the fight, with both Holyfield and Lewis dishing out and absorbing some huge punches, as well as throwing some decent combinations.
Both fighters knew that a win in this bout would help to cement their reputations as one of the best Heavyweight boxers in history.

The fight turned out to be a tough, hard hitting affair with both boxers using rough house tactics. From the opening bell both men threw heavy punches that barely missed their target, there was also a lot of tying up and clinching by Lennox Lewis to avoid getting caught off guard with any
huge uppercuts from Holyfield.

Lewis throughout the fight was leaning his 245 pounds all over Holyfield
whilst Holyfield kept coming in low with his head, hoping to get under Lewis stiff long jabs.

Amazingly, more than once, Holyfield tackled Lewis, picked him up and drove him into the ground like an NFL Player The ref had to separate both fighter on numerous occasions, and you could see the anger and frustration in both Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield's eyes.

Holyfield surprised many boxing fans by not only taking Lewis heavy punches but by backing Lewis up with his own heavy punch combinations. Lewis fought a smart fight, by taking advantage of his height and huge reach advantage. Holyfield did his best to get in close but Lewis was smart enough to Tie Holyfield up every time or to push Holyfield down and lean on him, which made it impossible for Holyfield to land any punches from that position, not to mention must have tired Holyfield out towards the end of the fight.

At the end of the fight both men stood waving their hands, waiting for the judges decision. The the shock many fans as well as the ringside announces, the fight was declared a draw.

Lewis stood shaking his head wondering what just happened as many people to this day believe that Lennox Lewis was cheated out of a victory and that the judges got it wrong.

The fight announcers said that Lennox Lewis had clearly won but had been robbed of a win by the judges decision.
