Hiking in northern and central Velebit

The Velebit massif is the longest mountain in Croatia, and the highest peak Vaganski vrh (1757 m) is the fourth highest in altitude. The entire area is protected as a nature park, while Northern Velebit and Paklenica are declared national parks. Velebit is characterized by the richness and diversity of surface and underground karst forms, which gives it a special beauty, but also harshness.
