"Beautiful" isn't often used to describe heavy metal. This is Beautiful
  • Cliff , Dimebag , Joey Jordison , Vinnie Paul are all rocking in heaven 👌🏻 .... RIP to the metal legends ❤️

I remember when I was a long haired skinny teenager with skin tight black jeans and a puppets t shirt listening to the Justice album (a tape back then) when it come out. I couldn’t believe what I was listening too. Here I am a fat 48 year old with a lot less hair loving this music now more than I ever did. Thank you Metallica. To live is to die!

By far, the saddest metallica song ever. The music speaks louder than any lyric they've ever written: slow, dark, heavy, emotional, classical... and just as cliff's life, it ends abruptly.

Imagine being such a cool dude that all your band mates create an emotionally epic ten minute metal instrumental in your memory. RIP Cliff Burton

Cliff wrote the most melodic passages in Metallica. This was the last one and they never had this kind of melody again. Orion, the breakdown in Master, absolutely beautiful. Cliff was a musical genius and would have only gotten better.

All the feels @ 4:31. Quite possibly the best passage of music ever.
  • I love this song so much. It perfectly captures all the emotions of Cliff being taken away from them. Anger, sadness, unfairness, sorrow, everything. Especially at 4:58. It's like, an uncomfortable silence prevails while the guitar is playing. To me, it sounds like, a major part of the band, which is Cliff, is gone, and they have to continue without him, thus the soft riff. It makes my eyes water everytime.

As a 15-yo teenager, I can say this song is absolutely beautiful. Just a 10 minute instrumental, but it has more sense in it, than most modern songs. Long live Metallica and R.I.P. Clifford Lee Burton.

My grandmother died in 1989 when I was 12 years old. I remember listening to this song in my room the night she died, amd the middle breakdown section gave me chills. 30 years later, I get that same feeling listening to this.
  • Cliff constructed most of the harmonies on Lightning and Puppets, and in the process he taught Hetfield and co. how to construct them. His influence and teaching clearly paid off for the band and no other song proves it more than this beautiful masterpiece.
  • RIP Cliff. One of the greatest creative in the world. He made Many thing for and in metallica. And in this song he used to be.
  • Rip Cliff Burton Rip Jeff Hanneman Rip Dimebag Darrell Rip Curt Cobain Rip Chester Bennington Rip Jim Morrison Rip the real art

I think that the main language that Cliff used was his music in the purest sense of the term. When I listen to Orion, Anesthesia or to live is to die i feel like Cliff is sitting in front of me talking about his feelings , his fears, his anguish like an open book... I don't know what I would give to be able to hug him. Still love you Cliff

I could listen to the section from 4:30 all day, every day. It gives me goosebumps and sometimes brings me to tears. Beautiful!
