The reason you have not seen Kamala shine like she has for the past two weeks is because she was loyal and respectful to Biden and her role in the administration. Once he named her his successor, the training wheels came off and she was allowed to take control of her future. I think she picked Walz for the same reason. She is looking for someone who can have her back and is not looking to the Oval Office. Shapiro has goals and can possible take a run in 8 years, but her chose was extremely wise.

What is remarkable about Tim Walz is how NOT a politician he is. He comes off as a regular man, who speaks plainly, and has values that he believes in and stands by. His counterpart on the other hand, JD Vance, is a politician in every sense. He is a disingenuous, 2-faced, flip-flopper, who says one thing and then another as it suits him.

I think she chose him to show how people from different parts of the country and different backgrounds can come together. Diversity works. Lots of different segments in the Democratic Party and we can work together. Unlike Republicans who circle the wagons and refuse to accept change.

For me, this is no longer a vote against Trump. This is a vote FOR the democratic ticket.

Registered Republican for 48 years here. I've been mourning the death of my party. Sadly, I'm not rich enough or dumb enough to swallow tRumps lies and live in oblivious content. Like a few other old guard Republicans it's been an ever increasing level of anxiety and fear about what my grandchildren will have to deal with in a tRump directed 4th Reich. I've never attended or watched a political rally through to the end. I was able to catch the Harris/Walz kickoff yesterday. I watched every second. I was enthralled; from Josh Shapiro's energetic and uplifting speech, through to the end when I watched the newly minted candidates greet onlookers. After watching this, I wanted to run out and do something great.

Personally I just like seeing candidates who smile and laugh with confidence, and are having a good time, and are not angry, glowering in mugshots, and rolling their eyes and acting like children.

That moment when Tim Walz talked about IVF, I felt that in my bones. I had four ( miscarriages) medical abortions that saved my life . And because of fertility, I am blessed with my daughter , Journey. Her name is because of the Journey me and my husband went through. How dear anyone take that away from women & families like me.

This new Democratic ticket is rightfully positive about America and its future. Trump and MAGA offer nothing but relentless negativity.

I´m from Sweden. Hadn´t heard of Walz. But great God what a great guy he seems to be! Sharp, witty and nice! What a contrast against Trump and Vance.
