If you watch the actual episode - Ulquiorra says the the rules of las noches... 1 never use a gran rey cero beneath the ceiling... 2 no Espadas passed #4+ can resurrection beneath the ceiling.. HE only achieved #4 cause he been determined thats all he needs. He wasnt focused on proving strength to everyone.

This Arrancar is death by Nothingness and you can feel it even when he shouts it out. The only thing Ichigo felt when fighting him was despair.
