As we get older, collagen breaks down faster than we can replace it. We lose 1% of our collagen per year in our mid-20's and lose as much as 30% during the first 5 years of menopause for females.
However, it's possible to boost your levels of collagen naturally, so you can have beautiful wrinkle-free skin.

I'm 38 so hardly old but I've noticed fine lines beginning to show up over the last few years through sun exposure I would imagine as I rarely used sunscreen, not major wrinkles of course compared to most people 20 years older than me but since I've been eating foods every day that are high in vitamin C and omega 3 I have noticed an improvement in my skin. It hasn't totally got rid of the fine lines but there's definitely been an improvement in that you can hardly see them now. So it just goes to show you can reverse things to a certain degree if you take care of yourself and nutrition. Never give up trying to improve your skin. 🙂
