Ejection 2

Dodgers have another go with player ejection in the CABL. Umpire makes bad call, chatter from the dugout leads to starting pitcher being ejected. What is more interesting is the pitcher returns to the mound, failing to comply with the ejection and leaves once told again not without getting his say. Starting pitcher refused to leave the field for the duration of the game. If league rules are to be enforced fairly in the case, the pitcher will receive a 15 game suspension and the catcher 2 games.

The ejected player was suspended for 2 games. No other punishment was enforced.

Legend has it that pitcher and catcher never stopped throwing and are still warming up to this very day

If I'm umping, either the thrown out player leaves or game is over. Easy as that.
  • To be fair, the umpire didn’t give him a ton of leeway. But, when you get ejected, you need to quit arguing and leave the field, regardless of whether the call was right or wrong. A manager acting like that sets a horrible example and is a big reason why there is a shortage of umpires.
  • Regardless of the timing, this is why umpires hate adult leagues. Almost as much whining as soccer clubs...toss the manager and move on.

32 yr umpiring veteran, up to D1. Heres what i have a problem with the most. 1) the home plate ump did nothing to diffuse and.2) the catcher did not get ejected. I've done 100s of adult games and have never had anything like this go on this long. Ejection, leave the field, or game over. That pitcher wouldve never stepped back on that mound, and that catcher would have been gone after that first comment.

WHY ISNT THE HM PLATE UMPIRE TELLING THE CATCHER TO "SHUT UP" OR THROWING HIM OUT!

I love how these players are so shocked at an incorrect call. It’s as if they have never seen that in their entire lives.

Once again Sunday want to be baseball players acting like fools. Then they wonder why no one wants to call these games.
  • To all those dads. If the umpires are so bad, sign up and show them what they have been missing.

The guy doing all the yelling and complaining needs some serious anger management classes. Ten bucks says he is dead or in jail within 5 years.
  • If an ejected player takes the field I am forfeiting the game to the other team

grown ass men... the catcher and pitcher will have great stories to tell on break tomorrow

I umpired one summer of adult baseball, and never went back. I don't need the aggravation.
  • IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE DECIDING THE CALL IN SLO-MO, THERE ARE DIFFERENT CALLS ON THE SAME PLAYS IN THE COMMENTS, THEN YOU SHOULDNT JUDGE OR DISRESPECT AN UMP FOR MAKING A CALL WITHOUT SLO-MO
  • Runner didn't object! Loudmouth should not have been there in the first place...

Don't start the game until he has his things and is in the parking lot. Document his number for your notes. HP umpire needed to help the field umpire manage the situation.
  • Guy yells at the umpire "you're horrible! You're terrible" then calls the umpire a "classy guy". The irony.
  • What the hell happened here? First of all, short leash, no warning. "That's terrible" is different than "you're terrible". Anyway, after the ejection, I'd have restricted the coach to the bench for the way he was acting. Then how does the catcher not get ejected? Every single player who swore at the umpire has to go, this is high school, not pro ball. When the pitcher comes back out, idek what I'd do. The coach would have to be ejected at that point, then threaten a forfeit. That head coach is probably getting suspended at least 3 games for what happened here, assuming the umpire filed the proper report. Though damn, why didn't the umpires control this game?
