Oh this is SO interesting! This is the first I am leaning of a LibGuide. Added The Diana Chronicles to my list. I was a young teen when she got married - got up in the middle of the night to watch it live. And oh gosh, The King’s Speech. SO good!!

Wallis Simpson was a married American socialite who made the mistake of beginning an affair (her husband knew and benefitted from the initial arrangement) with then Prince Edward. She assumed he would tire of her and move on the next woman as he always did in his relationships. He became obsessed with her, forced her and her husband to divorce, and essentially trapped her into marrying him. Even saying he would kill himself if she left. There's a very good documentary on YT which focuses on her lost letters lamenting her situation and how she still loved her ex-husband. The book it's based on is That Woman: The Life of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor by Anne Sebba.
