Kenny Everett as "Cupid Stunt" on "Parkinson" '82 (pt.1/7) HQ

Published 2009-10-18
This is part ONE of what was a magical night for me (for PART TWO, hit    • Buddy Rich "In A Mellow Tone" on "Par...  ). It was the 6th of March, 1982 and unannounced, TWO of my FIVE ALL-TIME HEROES appeared on Parky - Buddy Rich and Kenny Everett (they'd never have met any OTHER way!)

Also there, were Roy Castle and a surprise guest. This was a SHOW. Almost a full hour. No sidekick. No desk. And all of the guests STAYED after their initial interviews. Buddy did THREE numbers and then... well, you'll have to watch it to see!

You need to see ALL SEVEN pieces, IN ORDER. Now, put your computer onto FULLSCREEN and enjoy!

Cupid Stunt was not only his best character, it was probably the greatest comedy drag act of all time - Kenny made it look effortless

No-one could ever replace him. The ultimate comic genius. So much of his stuff was unscripted, and he didn't need writers. Incredible!

The passing of 'Kenny Everett' was as hard hitting as the passing of 'Rik Mayell'. My Dad hated us watching this show when we were kids. I got caught by my next door neighbours Mum, who walked in the room with me and a friend. I was sat in her swivel chair spinning around holding two ornaments from her fire mantle place (hands holding balls), swinging my legs over saying "It's all done in the best possible taste".

He never goes out of date. How the hell he got away with a name like Cupid Stunt is amazing at that time in Britain. He was wonderful!

Kenny Everett was a one off, we will never see the likes of him again and Tv has gone so boring over the years since he died at such a young age. RIP Legend
  • Lovely Kenny Everett....missed like Freddie Mercury. These guys had lovers together. Pity. RIP.

Kenny was a grade A total original genius. We may never see his like again.
  • Me and my mum watched this when I was a teenager........totally original Saturday night entertainment! Doubt humor like this will ever be allowed again or replicated....totally brilliant!

Sooooo sadly missed. He was a huge part of my younger years from the zany shows on Capital Radio to the TV series. I never missed a show. One of the best British talents ever to come out of this country.
  • Brilliantly performed. Crying tears watching Kenny. Cupid Stunt and Sid Snot. My favourites. Never missed. ...😂🙌

I've never been any good at impressions but I could do Cupid Stunt brilliantly. .,Miss you Kenny ..what a legend!!!
  • If only we had TV like this again, Kenny was simply brilliant, and all done in the best possible taste !!!!

He truly was an amazing talent. No one before or since has ever come close to him & no one ever will. He wasn’t afraid to take risks even if it got him into trouble.

Kenny was brilliant, he is sadly missed on both TV and radio. In these days of tenth rate rubbish masquerading as talent we need his genius again. He left us too soon.

I remember watching this when I was a kid and it was as hilarious then as it is now, just fabulous!
  • His style of humour and delivery is hard to beat - one of the greats.
  • I haven't laughed that much for years Long Live Kenny Everett!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤😂
  • @ferolcat2009
The fact he never shaved or hid his beard just adds to the humour - hahahaha
  • @mogznwaz
We all pretended to be Cupid Stunt as kids - even though we didn’t get the double entendre 😂
