Merry Christmas Jacklyn! Thank you for all the entertainment in 2023😊

The aspect ratio and forced use of FB is a definite deal breaker. For sports the frame needs to be unbreakable and made of a flexible material and come with a safety strap. I'm sure there will be better alternatives to choose from fairly soon - hopefully with a built in phone.

I have a love hate relationship with these glases. I bought a set of the transition lense version of it, and they worked great for a couple of days, but then, everytime I tried to livestream, the glasses would disconect immediately. (the only work around was to uninstall and reinst all the metaview app to get them working again... but that would only work for a day, and then back to square one). In addition, people said that whne taking calls, i sounded distant and low... SO I returned them (hard to keep a pair of $400 flitchy glasses). Then yesterday i found a person selling the same glasses (used) on marketplace for $170, and I bought them (Glitches at $170 are acceptable). ODLY ENOUGH, THEse pairs have had no issues so far... NONE! So maybe an initial bad pair? Anyways, 2 pieces of advice, if you feel you will stream or take many indoor videos, do yourself a favor and BUY THE TRANSITION VERSION... its horrible to stream videos indoors while wearing dark glasses. The Transitions is the way to go. Second, be aware that the only way to record videos longer than 1 minute is to do the livestream video, and then save that video (to later transfer or capture it)... but if the video is from a live concert or event, YOU WILL LIKELY GET STRUCK WITH A COPYRIGHT WARNING FROM FACEBOOK, AND THEY WILL PROCEED TO MUTE THE VIDEO AUDIO :( Anyways, at $400, its a tough pill to swallow with current glitches, but at $170... id buy them all day long :) P.S. i collect arcade machines and ppinballs, abnd these glasses are a dream for streaming pinpall gameplay!

well done with the video review. i just got my wayfarer with prescription progressive lenses. I am enjoying the meta glasses BUT the battery eats fast! I have to carry the case with me at all times or turn off the glasses when not in use.

Awesome video, NBTJ! I’m so glad that you reviewed this with an honest day-in-the-life experience. I have long hair too, so I’ve been wondering how it would affect the camera. Thanks for touching on that! I’d love to see a follow-up video to this where you spend more time with the glasses in different environments, plus using the new multimodal A.I. camera update. Excellent work as always! 👍

Great Video! I just got mine last week and I'm still figuring out all of the functions. Thanks for touching on the privacy issue with FB as during the setup it asked me for access to all of my photos which I'm not 100% on board with. Is it just to write new photos or did I just give Meta permission to suck all of my photos and videos up into their servers?

Incredibly smart and under-the-hood details in this video. This tech seems still so early stage, but already so effective!!

I love seeing how this works just walking around town. As a prescription glasses wearer, I am curious how well the prescription version works (not curious enough to spend $300+ though). If it catches on, I'm hoping they will come out with a non-luxury-brand version.

"Ya say ya want a revolution....welllll, ya know.... we all wanna change the world." 🥰
  • This was so cool! If I could afford to add these into my daily routine, I would definitely have a pair, as they really seem to help enhance a lot of different aspects in a person’s life. Smart glasses are definitely improving with every iteration! Well done as always, Jacklyn! I hope you have an absolutely wonderful Christmas!!

The accessibility part combined with LLM seems exciting, but the whole thing (paired with Meta/FB) feels “dirty”. Great video.
