Ever wanted to get into VRChat but you don't have the money to dish out for VR equipment? Or maybe you were anxious about talking to people? Well have no fear, because despite the name of the game, both of these things are completely optional!

World Hopping is honestly underrated! Its my main activity whenever im on VRChat. I also collect avatars - just jumping from world to world and trying different avatars out and seeing what customization they have to offer is a lot of fun imo! It sounds weird writing it out like this but its a fun little hobby of mine. Its like bug collecting.

Within the past few weeks or so I started learning VRASL via a few worlds like Bob64's Experimental Sign Language world and the Helping Hands community and it's been extremely fun and fast to learn with the amount of resources available in VRC. Wasn't expecting to see the sign language community shouted out in one of your videos but it deserves all the praise it can get. Also the outro in City of Liliya, I love that world's vibe so much after seeing it drop this week.

As a desktop user i find this video very helpfull, i remember using the chat function for like a month, thinking people could read it, untill someone called me out that they were not able to read me, my hearth just fell apart 7n7. Also a little tip for dektops, you can lift and point your right arm/hand by setthing your personal mirror to "grabbable", that way you can headpat, punch people, all sort of fun things, just avoid aiming it to the 50 to 80 degree danger margin....

me, a mute, with friends in 2 different languages one of which i dont even speak: "yea i wonder what can help me here, i could use some tips"
  • @GUSRG

I got friends I still hang out with almost every weekend on my "first" day on VRC, I didn't have a VR and I didn't use a Mic back then. I guess I got pretty lucky lol
  • @Illogical.
I made my own text to speech program. It's really terrible, but it does work, and can be understood. And you have to write the input phonetically, cause it was originally for a language that isn't compatible with keyboards. We usually use minecraft or MS paint to write in it. I made the tts, cause I didn't want to speak, but I do have a mic.

Well arranged video. This video did gave me a bit courage when I went wrong and try to get my first HMD(lol) a few months ago, quite shockly while being social disabled and can basically only using 3-points with limited body-languages, I still being able to be picked up by a good group that's ever dare to get close to the visitor(known atm), so I guess it's true you don't need chat, although I do have VR, though. All you need is to have some sort of the reaction, jump, nod with mouse, emotes, I found there are always good people around, just need some opportunities to meet one and then it expands

I loved playing on desktop even more then playing in a headset sometimes, vrc is a really cool platform, but just like internet it has a lot of amazing stuff and also has a lot of stupid in a bad sense shit, but its worth it, its like a free third place to hang out with friends and roleplay and meet new people!

I have tried VRchat a handful of times cause I like people watching, did not know that there was an ingame keyboard

USB if your pc or laptop has a lightning bolt symbol next to the USB C, thats power delivery and that can charge your headset while playing. i plug my headset into a 16 foot usb to my 25 watt phone charger and i can play all day on quest 3 you should have done a segment on communicating as a mute by flailing your hand around and making gestures. you could have someone there and gesture at them, more and more agressivly untill you start smacking them, and then comicaly cut away abruptly lol
  • I'm also a World Hopper. Mainly because I'm Social Anxious, but heyyy lol
  • @hubertly
will you come out with a backrooms VRC 3 video soon? And I can't use pcvr becuase my co.puter doesn't have the right graphics card so the oculus app refuses to let me use link cable and I have the same cord as you the kuject one

my worst limitation is by far the way the game attempts to load all avatars at once on top of loading the world as well. always crashes my game. either i disable all avatars and lose whatever things that may be happening, or i just end up not playing the game (haven't played in years with this same pc :c

based on your description of how desktop vrchat works (my laptop sucks so i don't have any experience with it), it sounds like how the mobile version works, although the mobile version's definitely worse. it's more based on the quest version and it's currently android exclusive, so none of the pc-only worlds/avatars are available, and all very poor-rated avatars are replaced with fallbacks. also, while you can talk using the mic, the only option you have is push-to-talk, which makes moving and turning the camera while talking incredibly annoying.
