I wish someone had shown me this years ago when I bought my first guitar. Sure makes it simple, straight forward, and logical.
  • @PlanetGenX
This is probably the most intuitive note layout I've ever seen. I learned something today and I've been playing guitar off and on for 35 years. Cheers!
  • @copperhead573
I am going to chunk my neck memorization for my next lessons. I am going to draw out my a,b,c and just get them down to memory. Thanks so much for making this easier for me. Grateful
  • @GoSeaKayak
This is brilliant! I've pretty much learnt all the notes on the fretboard but this has just sped up my navigation of the notes. Great lesson, thanks!
  • @tomgreen8628
You're one of the best instructors iv ever come across. You simplify complex things so most folks can "get it". Thanks for your hard work!
  • @jasononeal
Another excellent video, Ricky! You're hands down the best guitar teacher on YouTube.
  • @LiveToPlayGuitar
It never seems to amaze me about how much information lays in plain sight on the guitar but you never see it…until now! Finally spelling chords/triads just got a whole lot easier…Thank You So Very Much! 🎸🔊🎶🤘✌️❤️🤟

Maestro every lesson you have is done so well, you break it down so orderly that looks so simple, there are no words to say thank you for sharing your knowledge and time.
  • @spaceandstuff
This is awesome. I love the way you break things down in such detail it's great. Those little video snippets from movies are nice little quips that help with remembering too. It's fantastic

Every now and then i find something on you tube that explains something so well, so seemingly simply, that you can't help but grow from the experience of watching it. This is such a video. I feel slightly daft that i've never fully grasped this theory side of guitar playing. And, voila, along comes Ricky and shines a light so bright onto the subject matter that i now see it in an absorbable way. Thank you Ricky. Great job.
  • @theresegrenier3896
Amazing!! You simplified it so that it makes it easy to understand. Great Job.
  • @djajamminj8934
You are the BEST teacher I have been playing guitar over 20 years and your explanation is the absolute easiest and best!!! Thank you!!!
  • @Dolledokus
Awesome vid mate. This explained it so much better, 1000 times easier to understand. Thanks a million👍
  • @4m05
this is gold, after watching this video half way through I started to do it, makming 1 or 2 mistakes through but its starting to stick, thank you I am a firm believer anyone can learn anything you just got to find the right method for you.
  • @yudipitre5720
Rick yesterday I sat down I drew the fretboard like you did. It helped me see it better. I have never been able to do triads up and down the fretboard. Thank you love the way you teach. I play only open chords. 😢
  • @MegaRuiz88
OMG ! You have shown me the light. Thank you for this. The KISS method does it again. I am so glad I ran into this. Brilliant !
  • @idontgrillonwed
I’ve been doing this 20 years, and even taught it, but I love his color-coordinated approach. Subscribed and will be recommending your materials to students.
  • @johnnga4496
Thank you so much for your help. You made that so much easier to understand. It will be easier to find out and to play. You're a blessing
  • @wmfife1
Wow! Since starting with my first guitar nearly eighteen years ago I have watched DOZENS of tutorials and chords /tabs diagrams which only made me more confused, beginning with ponderous"old-school" music-lesson manuals teaching one note at a time and "modes" which to this day, are STILL Greek to me. But THIS is FAR and AWAY the most useful eye-opening revelation of basic fretboard setup ever seen. A big THANK YOU and WHERE do I sign?
