昨年のゴジラ・フェス2022で公開され、現在Youtubeでの再生回数が830万回を超えるショートフィルム『ゴジラVSガイガンレクス』を制作した上西琢也監督。今年は生誕50周年となるメガロを登場させた『ゴジラVSメガロ』がゴジラ・フェスにて公開決定！東宝の制作レーベル「GEMSTONE Creative Label」バックアップのもと、『岐阜ゴジラ』で話題を集めた映像クリエイター・柴田晃宏氏とのタッグにより何倍もスケールアップした怪獣バトルをお届けします。　本公開に先駆け、『ゴジラVSメガロ』の特報映像を解禁します！

1987年生まれ。2013年株式会社白組入社。3DCGディレクター。
映画『寄生獣完結編』『DESTINY 鎌倉ものがたり』他、多数の映画で3Dデザイナーやコンポジターとして参加。『銀魂2 掟は破るためにこそある』コンポジットスーパーバイザー、『シン・ゴジラ』ゴジラモデリング＆コンポジット、『シン・ウルトラマン』キャラクターモデリングスーパーバイザー/ CGディレクター等。その他、『モンスターハンター4G』『バイオハザードリベレーションズ2』などのゲームやMVにも多数参加

■柴田晃宏プロフィール
ディレクター、カメラマン。(株)東海制作代表取締役。
岐阜市で大規模エキストラを集めた短編映画『岐阜ゴジラ』、ゴジラモチーフのドレス制作ドキュメンタリ『DRESS』の2作品が東宝の「GEMSTONEクリエイターオーディション」で入賞を果たし話題を集める。東海地方を中心に、映画、ドラマ、CM、PVなど幅広い作品に参加。

After 50 years, Megalon has gotten more recognition. He’s such a unique kaiju and I wish he was brought back for other titles.

That was the best one yet by a huge margin!! The redesign on Megalon was phenomenal! They did a great job of showing the devastation the city was experiencing. The fight choreography was outstanding. This Megalon actually looked and behaved like it was more than a match for Big G. I loved it! My biggest heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in these short films. From the ToHo execs that green lit the project all the way down to the guy fetching Tea and Noodles for everyone. A really big Canuckle Head Gojira fan is very very happy these past few years.

This rules. Godzilla using his atomic energy in new ways, a callback to the tail slide flying kick from the first appearance of megalon, and megalons amazing new redesign that actually makes him look badass. Also I love that this Godzilla is calm and calculated, catching megalons blows and sending him to the ground like that. This is just so cool

They actually made Megalon intimidating. Seeing him have a proper team up with gigan in their modern incarnations would be terrifying.

I'm glad that Japan isn't shying away from doing more action packed Godzilla scenes like how he was in the older movies. It's nice that they're focusing on the more serious side of Godzilla in Reiwa, but it's also nice that they haven't completely forgotten this side of Godzilla even if it's in a more low budgeted film.

I like that they made them more agile but still "heavy" when moving, and the classic soundtrack is great too. Also liked how they used Godzilla's 80's growl like roar and breath animation style.

I love that the Little One is gradually becoming one of the strongest Godzillas, surpassing his father by strides. Also, DROP KICK!!!!!!!

I like that they turned that campy slide/drop kick from the original into something bad ass. The new ability of being able to focus his atomic energy into different appendages is interesting. I can only imagine what a charged tail smash would look like!

I love how unlike his father, he settles things calmly, Which makes him terrifying considering that amount of calmness poses big endurance, stamina and durability. (You can also see how he knows to use his power which means he has been fighting off monsters on his own thats + EXPERIENCE, honestly W) An additional is the fact that his opponents are literally probably continental/Multi-continental enemies or higher which megalon clearly showed. This guy can also produce beams that seems devastating, and he can also do the Minilla ring as seen in 6:34. Potentially the strongest godzilla when it comes to Abilities and intelligence.

This is definitely Junior alright… the only irrefutable proof we need is his flashing red eyes when he’s in danger. He seems to almost have Super Godzilla’s punch.

Wasn't expecting a full 10 minute short - even so it breezed by quickly! This was an incredible little short film. Beautiful work on behalf of all involved! These have been, and will continue to be a pleasure to look forward to every Godzilla Day.
