Thanks for the review. I was considering this, but was hesitating because of initial cost. The additional cost of add-ons makes this less desirable imho.
-
I was gonna buy one too. Thank you for your sacrifice..

As a truck driver and firearm owner I actually need the wifi feature since basically nobody will be home when I'm gone. Although I do have more security than just the safe it's still a nice feature.
-
Thanks for posting. I was going to buy this but definitely not anymore.

I was interested in this line of safes too for the weight and modularity. I’ve since come across SecurIt safes/cabinets with are less $$$ and you get more space with some accessories! I haven’t bought one yet but the quality seems a lot higher too. Sorry to hear this turned out to be sooo exspensive for you, hopefully it’s functioning well.

Thank you for helping me decide on whether to buy any of these seats from Vaultek. I will not be buying any of these safes. I’m going to buy one from elsewhere.

I bought my 500i before the 800 was out but got it at a local safe shop where they have liberty rhino and all the others. Lucked out and got it for 1200 out the door. Only have a mossberg and Glock at the moment so it’s fine (for now) overall good safe but I agree it is a bit pricey
-
Yeah I totally was going to go get one just now. Thank you random YouTube algorithm. 🙄
-
Glad i saw this, not spending all that money on a 800 either

So, I agree with you that there are other rifle safes that are worth shopping, and likely give more storage and/or greater security for the buck, without some of the tech features and maybe modularity the Vaultek has. But you are badly misrepresenting the RS500. Of course a lightweight safe must be secured, or it will be prone to tip (or theft) and how is dealing with floor molding unique to only this safe? Either elevate it, remove the molding, put a hardwood board behind it, or use longer screws. Also, the updated model has three lights, not one, and try a small extension cord if the power supply cord is too short. You failed to mention the battery lasts for months if not plugged in, if the extension cord is not convenient. Also, Vaultek gives you the exact dimensions and lists what is included when you get it. Should have been no shock your mags won’t fit if the rifles are oriented in the most efficient way to maximize storage. Finally, the price today (2023) is $1599, not $1,800, and it must have been cheaper when you bought it 3 years ago. I get the safe is not right for you and how you use it - lots of options out there. But this review is not objective.
-
Sounds like you didn’t do your research before buying the safe lol
-
Tell me you've never owned a safe without telling me.
-
Everyone knows that when a safe says 10 or 20 gun, it means shotguns or bolt action rifles without optics stacked side by side. They didn’t give you false advertising. Also why do you need a magazine in the rifle when it’s in the safe. I get it’s faster but do you really need 3 more seconds? Probably not. I would take the mag out and rotate the orientation of the rifle so you have better use of space.

I agree I just got that one. My AR Has a red dot and will not sit like they showing the website. The door will not close. I have to put it sideways. And it takes so much real estate that way it’s not worth it. They should only be selling the 800. I agree though that it’s false advertising. When you look at all the pictures and you can see five rifles standing there. They must be without scopes or red dots. Who doesn’t have an optic on the rifle

$1800 with $700 in extras. No thank you. Have you considered returning it

Small child killing device 😭😂

Thank you for making this video. You highlight a few points to consider. However, I do have to agree with another commenter that the video is not an object review, in light of your specific needs. Also some of the points made seem inaccurate. I am not going to regurgitate what someone else already highlighted in detail. While I don't think there is intention, some of the frustrations may have skewed your objectivity and impartiality due to not taking into consideration the structures of your own home. Some people may or may not have caught those nuances in the video. You reviewed the Vaultek RS500i and in turn your viewers review the videos you post.

The price of these are ridiculous for the steel content in the safe. I wouldnt be surprised if a teenager could break into this in 2 minutes with a pry tool.

vaultek need to do better!
