  • When I get depressed and despondent over life and humanity, I come back to this, and I feel better. The news darkens the world, but music brightens our souls. And you bring beauty to both.
  • I didn’t think it was possible to play so melodically without sounding muddied. I was so wrong. And never so happy to say it. Brava et Brava.
  • Already after the first piano notes I am ready to melt down, but after some moments with the double bass I have completely surrendered. This unusual version with the double bass as the solo instrument may raise the question: Can you play Schubert the way you want, despite tradition? My own answer is YES, after hearing Jing Yun Wangs wonderful version on double bass.❤❤❤

I’ve never heard the double bass in the context of it playing a melody with everything else, it’s amazing! It has just the same amount of flexibility as a cello.

This is the first time ever that I have heard a bass singing melodically with strings instead of vocal chords. It sounds amazingly human. Why has this potential not been explored more frequently before? What a shame! What a treasure! Oh, that vibrato on the high notes! You are literally tugging at the heartstrings. Brava and best wishes!

Wonderful performance! Fingers flying on the fingerboard and landing precisely where they needed to be. As a violin player whose fingerboard is 5 times shorter I can only imagine how much training on techniques and sensitivity it takes. Not to mention the elegance and tonality you bring forth. Bravo!

Unbelievable! Beautiful piece and beautiful performance.

Bravo! I have heard this piece played on Viola and Cello, but on Double Bass, this is the first. I have to admit it is a lot more demanding technically. Well done.
  • I have never seen this instrument played so beautifully! Jing Yun has full command of this instrument so does not have to watch her fingers. She obtains the full tonality of every note and embraces the entire emotional spectrum with a singing quality! Totally superb! Best Double Bass player EVER! Very sensitive piano-playing, with half-closed lid is a fine contributor to this amazing performance. This goes in "Favorites"! Many thanks, from Canada.
  • Really beautiful. I humbly believe that this sonata is better suited for double bass than for cello. Great performance. Congratulations

  • Oh to be there! How exciting is that? Thank You friends for truely making MUSIC LIVE TODAY!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Beautifully melodic. Not an easy instrument but Jing Yung does an exquisite job
