  • This is one of the most exciting classes, it's been pretty uneventful for most of the quad, but it'll be a bloodbath and anyone could win at the Olympics. I'm still hoping Akbar will win - as long as he's in good shape, he could definitely hit around 190 230
  • If Gigachad hits a 185+ snatch, I can’t see anyone beating him in the total.
  • babe wake up SomSeriousWeight just posted
  • Great overview man!! I didn't realize this class was so competitive

This was an awesome overview of the class with no BS, straight to the point. Thank you, and keep making these!!! Subbed!
  • Thank You Serious, another great vid. I think Gigachad is definitely the man to beat. Very intriguing with 2 Olympic champs competing but you are spot on with analysis of each limitations Ahkbar seems much more suited to 108s and Meso who hasn’t matched his best from the 96s 3 yrs ago. I like Karapetyan for silver. Super strong pull. It’s funny that a guy who snatches 185 (almost 187) has difficulty with his cleans. He needs to work on getting his elbows turned over quickly and out of the way of his knees as he racks it. His jerk on the 216 was smoked - a beautiful deep split. 408-410 will be good enough for silver.

The only reason Meso won the Olympics is because Tian and Moradi weren’t there, that gold medal at Tokyo was Moradi’s, pre injury. He was good at 96 but he hasn’t managed to set any WR, nearly always clarking it mid thigh, This should be an easy win for Liu. That being said I think the 102 gold this year probably would have been won by Moradi, he would have moved up and probably annihilated all world records, I think the C&J would be much higher than 232kg and the snatch record would have been established in the low 190’s had he still been around.
  • Paris Olympics 2024 is not going to be EZ for anyone because the worlds best wants that gold medal.
  • Also wtf happened to rasoul motadmedi? He was hitting 180 and 220s in the 102s before it was the Olympic category. He would be in solid contention for a medal
  • I am not a fan of 102 kg. There are almost no lifters in that category where that’s a natural body weight for them. Most of them are 96s force feeding themselves or 109s starving themselves. I’m hoping we get heavyweight back next quad. 102 is sub heavyweight. It’s not the same thing.

It’s a great class, probably the most competitive for medals on the men’s side. My feeling is Lesman will win the snatch, and set the standard for the medals on his c+js. Akbar will look to overtake Lesman for the lead. Meso will jerk what he needs to overtake Akbar for Silver and Liu will total high enough (around 415) that Meso will be forced to take a massive final attempt for gold. The trailing potential medallist’s will struggle to make those bigger jerks to get into the top 3.

Messo fell off, he can't keep up with his old weights at a higher weight class. Akbar has the best chance of beating gigachad in the total. But who knows, guys could be really gearing up for this one.
  • People gonna hate me for this but I believe Mesos better years are behind him, I don’t believe he’s ever made 230 in comp and I don’t think he’s goin to do it in his 3rd Olympic Games as an “older” athlete with a recent injury. I personally hate Lesman Paredes as he is just a bad showing to watch. Never competes, doesn’t take all his attempts, somehow makes a mundane sport even more mundane (yes i know he’s dealt with injuries lately ) Akbar heaviest CJ at 109 was 237 at the last Olympics I believe and I don’t think he can reach near that at this bodyweight, Liu did 4kgs less at the asain games weighing 9 kilos less The amount of 180/220’s we’re going to see is insane. The 102 class took a while to develop competitively and now is the most competitive class on the men’s side. I just hope no weight classes are reshuffled after this games and we can see just what these guy’s are capable of over the next couple of years 🙏 fantastic video as always brother you’re doing gods work out here
