  • I am a man and I cannot listen to this song without crying! I was MY mothers BABY. The similarities between this song and my life are so uncanny you could think I was the songwriter. I was born with a heart condition. Throughout most of my childhood I could not go out and play many of the games and sports other kids did. My mother was a single mom back in the 50's and she was the only bread winner in the family. But she ALWAYS took time out for me. We would do most everything together, but our favorite times included rock hunting, fishing, and just riding through the country and seeing this great nation. After I married, I moved to Florida and Mom stayed behind. So while I was "somewhere in the south" just as this song implies, Mom passed away. I could not make it home in time to say good-bye. I am 73 years old, and yes I STILL cry. Mom, I'll see you soon. I love you more than words can ever say. I miss you.
  • My mom passed away in April 2023…I was her baby. I read the first part of this song at the end of her eulogy. She was good to me and my daughter
  • I have 2 children, 1 son and 1 daughter, my son is the oldest but will always be my baby. He's had a tough life, drug use and dealing, so many things... jail several times, and prison a few times. Currently in prison and facing many years over drugs . Through all that I've always loved my son. As I age and my health has worsened, my continued thought has been, please Father God allow him to heal and be free from drugs and harm. When I hear this song, I think of my son. I have no doubt that he would rush to my side when the day comes that I'm not so well, or even on my deathbed. I absolutely know "my baby" would be by my side. I love my son.
  • My mom died December 11, 2000 at age 65. I am the baby of five, so I had her for the least amount of time. I was 36 when she passed and oh how I needed her a whole lot longer!!! If you still have your mama you are blessed!!! Dad passed on 6 years ago, so I only have MY babies and my grand babies!! Life is so brief!!! Cherish the time with them because one day they’ll be gone. ❤️🙏🏼❤️
  • My mom passed on Feb. 15, 2000. I am her baby. I cried for DAYS. I still cry like a baby and it's been 19 years now. It still feels like yesterday. I miss her so much. I talk to her picture. I have one in almost every room in my house. That's how much I miss her and talk to her. I'm not crazy. I just miss her that much. Don't feel bad if you still cry. Your mom is still your mom and she is the only one who is going to love you forever!!!!!
  • Song makes me cry everytime. My moms still here and i thank God everyday for it 🙏 i just cant imagine life without her shes been my HERO all my life and my biggest supporter ❤️ this song touches every bone in my body. I love you MOMMA
  • i didn't cry the very day my mom died, I felt like she deserved to rest after a painful cancer. But now I'm crying just listening to this song, I guess that feeling was inside of me and I never let it come out. Thank you Blake, this lyrics are so strong and your voice is so beautiful, this music really touched my soul in a deep way.
  • My son played this song to me over the phone when he was in Hawaii in the Marine Corps and I at home in California. We cried together over the phone. He said he wanted me to be proud of him before I died. I told him I was proud of everything he ever did right and there was a whole lot to be proud of. Then he was deployed to Iraq and died in a helicopter crash around seven months later. I never got to say goodbye. I'm so grateful that he played this song to me.
  • Who else is listening going into 2019? Also this song gave me chills I'm the youngest of three I'm super glad & thankful I still have my Mom in my life.
  • I'm Momma to 3 boys, men now, and bawl like a baby EVERYTIME I listen to this song. One of my favorite Blake Shelton songs.
  • I lost my grandmother almost 3yrs ago. Words can't describe the feelings one can have after a lose so close. She was my mother for all intensive purposes.
  • It makes me cry and my mom is still here. I can’t imagine losing her.
  • Dont care how strong man and tough you are you will cry if you miss your mother
  • I never got to say goodbye to my mom so I feel this feeling. I cry every time I hear this song

  • I'm crying because my mama is fighting cancer. I'm the baby of the family, and this song makes me think of her all throughout my life. She's the most precious woman to me and I'm so scared for her, I don't know what I'd do without my mama.
  • I lost my mother 14 years ago and she always called me her baby. I can't help but cry everytime I hear this song. Great job Blake.
