The local government for Jasper has recently cut millions of dollars from the firefighting and emergency response budget. This is criminally irresponsible.

That guy deserves life in prison
-
He set his car on fire, then pushed it off into the brush. He already has 2 strikes. Child molester. This will be strike 3. He won't be getting out. But he should also be charged as a terrorist.

😢it's terrible. So many of us here in this county have families out battling & assisting on the blaze. Please pray for everyone involved. That lives are spared, and it is contained before so many more homes are destroyed. It's so real when we sit here and watch the smoke plumes in the distance, outside of our kitchen window.

I always feel very sad for the innocent wildlife too!

I lost my home and business in the Camp fire in 2018 in Paradise. This is heartbreaking.

Here we go again.. another summer tragedy 😞 rest in peace to those affected ❤️🫂

I'm surprised there's any forests left.

“Crews struggle to contain monster arson fire in California”
-
One million firefighters with one million firetrucks and one million airplanes dropping one million gallons of retardant is no match for a wildfire. But...doing the same thing over and over with the same poor results is standard operating procedure. Keep it up and double or triple the funding.

Praying for you guys from pa.

If that arsonist ever gets released, he's going to have to move far away. People who lost homes won't forgive him.
-
Monster fire??? You people are always making things sound like the end of the world. That is rude. Why not talk about emergency service available for these people. Get a list going.
-
How could anyone do this? There is clearly no limit to stupidity.

I lost my home in a Santa Barbara wildfire. Dudes were up on the trails with weedeaters using metal blades. Then the wind started blowing at about 60 to 70 mph, it was 105° and the humidity was down around 6%. Losing your home in the wildfire was the easy part. Dealing with insurance agencies and permitting authorities and contractors trying to rebuild your home over the next four years is where the slow and long nightmare truly begins.

Not a cow kicking over a lantern this time, a car is to blame.

I’m right in the middle of the evac area in Park fire

I think the left (west) and right (east) flanks of the fire are contained. The west flank being the one near Chico and right flank being the one near Paradise. I’d say about 50 percent of the fire is contained except for the top (north) head of the fire and NE east corner of the fire. Been monitoring it since it began and haven’t noticed growth west side (Chico) or east side (paradise) so this means they have those two sides under control. 😊 Good job to all first responders!!
