AUTHORITY

Luke 10:19 - amp
19 Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.

- All Authority has been given to Jesus (Eph 1:21-22) (Mat 28)
- we are seated with Jesus in heavenly places with heavenly rights. (Eph 2:6)
Jesus has given us authority.
- God has anointed you to resist that which you are asking Him to remove.

AS A BELIEVER WE ALL CARRY AUTHORITY. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE DO NOT BELIEVE OR WALK IN THAT AUTHORITY.

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF AUTHORITY?
- Delegated or the given right to give commands, to enforce obedience,
- to take action over satan, sin, sickness, self & situations.

The holy spirit is the power that backs the authority in a believer.
God’s power in and through us makes it happen.
- We must be aware of our dependence on that authority and power in order to operate in it.
- The holy spirit is the power behind the authority but also the voice directing that authority.

Our authority comes from knowing JESUS -– not just of HIM.
1. SONS OF SCEVA - WE NEED TO GET ORDERS FROM GOD (ABOVE)
- Sons of sceva – they knew how (mechanics) of casting out a spirit. but didn’t know the Lord. (Acts 19:13) they had no relationship with the Father.

AUTHORITY IS FOUND IN THE ASSIGNMENT
LUKE 10: 1-3

WE DO NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT. THE 70 SENT OUT IN LUKE 10 WERE LAMBS NOT SHEEP. (LK 10:3)
UNTAUGHT (LK 10:21)
JESUS REJOICED THAT THEY WERE WALKING IN THEIR AUTHORITY EVEN AS BABES.

We are protected when we operate in our authority. (v19)

Faith is very important when the enemy throws the fiery darts. We raise the shield of faith (Eph 6)

WHEN YOU GO THROUGH DEFEAT IN SOME AREA OF YOUR LIFE, THAT DEFEAT WILL GIVE YOU A T-SHIRT TO WEAR. The devil offers you a t-shirt to wear because he wants to bind your thoughts at the level of your recent failures. But you don’t have to wear everything you receive.
- The bible says - Don’t Conform –
- We often wait for things to get better before working on the way we think and feel. “When my life gets better, then my disposition will get better.”
- Put on your T-SHIRT of authority.

WE HAVE AUTHORITY OVER:
1. SATAN - Col 2:15 & Lk 10:19
2. SIN (rom 6:6-7)
3. SELF - Proverbs 16:32
4. SICKNESS - Isa 53:5
5. SITUATIONS - Mark 4:38-40

WE DO NOT HAVE AUTHORITY OVER:
- Somebody else’s will
- When we are in disobedience

How do we operate in this authority:
1. pray in Jesus name (Jon 16:23 - Jn 14:12-14) - Ask for anything in my name. Demand that the affliction of satan leave - Acts 3:6.
2. The blood of Jesus (Rev 12:11, Mat 26:28,
3. Fasting
4. The sword of the spirit- - God's word (Eph 6:17)

CALL TO ACTION
We need to repent if we have allowed the enemy to rule us and intimidate us.
If we are waiting for someone else to rise up in their authority to rescue.
There is power is The name of Jesus, in the blood of Jesus and that power is in YOU.
May Jesus rejoice in us as we take up our authority in HIM.
Take control of satan, sin, sickness, self, situations today as you operate in your authority.
Put on your garments of authority.
