Nope, ban all fees. Companies have a had a chokehold on the public for a long time and now they are upset because they can’t charge fees anymore. Nope!

I stopped eating out freely because of the various fees on the end of the bill. One restaurant had a service fee, health fee, and energy fee. I wasn’t sure if I needed to tip, even though I had to get my food when my number was called. It’s getting very strange to eat out at most places.

The US should abandon this tip/fee system and use the European system where all cost is included in dish price. As long as all restaurants are affected the same, why are owners so afraid of price increases?
  • Add Resort fees for hotels! This should be a NATIONAL law. They're holding travelers hostage with this MANDATORY fee.
  • If the restaurants really wanted to be upfront about their added fees, they would do away with the fees and increase the prices on the menus. The fact that they don't show their real intent.

Cannot justify these service fees. If it happens, I am not eating at your restaurant and if I have to will shave off what you charge me off the tip for the server.

Yup Door Dash has a garbage service fee ..why are we paying that when I pay for the delivery fee?
  • Here in CA, we only dine at home...and, I bring food to my work locations. That's all.

0:48 If you don’t like the fees associated with doing business. Get a different career or make your business profitable! Stop passing YOUR costs to do business onto your customers! I boycott every restaurant that adds these fees onto the bill! Don’t get me started on car dealerships and their “delivery, process and handling fees” too!

Ban all fees! These restaurant owners are silly and his response is sickening. If your customers are "...willing to pay more..." then why not just raise the menu price on all items? Why do you want to pad the bills with fees? I travel all of the world for my job and it's truly sad to come back and see a receipt full of weird charges. I don't know any other country that are like the US where the bill including taxes, tips, health surcharge, table surcharge, inflation surcharge, cork fees and so on and so forth. If he thinks customers are OK with it, then just increase menu prices.... He won't because he know people won't like it.

San Francisco tops the entire nation on these junk fees. Just while dining out, I’ve experienced ambiance-entertainment fees, fair-wage fees, 10% service charges, the-betterment-of-women-in-the-restaurant-industry-fees, quality-of-life-for-waitstaff fees, 8% restaurant-meal taxes, send-my-kids-to-college fees, pay-for-my-court-ordered-therapist fees, how-dare-you-i-take-offense-to-that-but-if-you-increase-your-tip-im-not-going-to-say-anything fee, and the-price-of-ingredients-are-going-up-so-here’s-just-another-extra-something-something fee….so sick of JUNK fees.

aka gouging the customer because the government keeps gouging the restaurant.
  • @mrsleep0000
LOL, yeah, okay, we all know who is really going to be impacted as the price goes up again.
  • @dougclem7711
Yes it is clearly on your reciept, tip, table fee, take your order fee. Chicken dinner $9.87. The clarity fee is $9.87. have a blessed day!
  • @acesmith8623
I was charged 18% tips for two people on a dinner.
  • @dquan731
This is all about transparency. It should all be in the price. Even taxes. You shouldn’t have to do mental math before buying stuff.
