How to clean Onan Generator Carburetor.

Onan generator maintenance may be required if your Onan Generator is running rough or having a hard time starting. Cleaning the carburetor on your Onan generator is not a difficult process and can be done with minimal tools and some basic skills.

Cleaning a carburetor, on most small engines, is a fairly straightforward process and can make the difference between running rough and running like a champ!

Just used this video to fix our code 36 issue and turned out it was the fuel solenoid that we thought was a water censor to kill the engine if too much water was in the fuel. Cleaned the solenoid which was VERY stuck and it fired up and ran clean after 2 years. You're a saint good sir.

I don't ever comment but I felt compelled to here... this guy's educational and hilarious at the same time. Well done and thanks for sharing!

A Mike Rowe and a dirty job. You taught me to continue as I always do. Have mine maintained when I'm at my fav garage in Havasu before setting out on any journey. I have not done anything but run mine to run it. Been well over a yr since I needed it. Now I have all my solar and no need for the thing. I would be happy to remove it all together and save on gas not lugging the extra weight around. Great seeing love you professional terminology. Your always a hoot.

Just wanted to drop in and thank you Paul for the tip you gave many moons ago about the extra part on the tow dolly to keep the tongue of the dolly in place. We were on our way to Abita Springs La and when we got here , when hubby was getting the truck off the dolly he found that the pin was missing. Without that extra clamp that you had on yours we would have lost our truck and maybe wrecked our mh. Thx again. Love YALLS channel.

Thank you for this video. I had the exact same issue with my generator! Your video guided me through the process and my generator runs flawlessly! Very much appreciated.
  • Good knowledge to have, can be used on any small equipment that has a carb. Thanks for the instructional video.........
  • @eyeone2

Hey Paul ..... NICE to see you posting again !!! GOOD job with the Gen carb ... (Sadly, the fuel we get today is crap, and it will cause gumming, clogging, issues in anything, especially when that engine isn't ran much ....) . I go through this with my 84 Honda GoldWing, every spring time .... only mine is a "times4" Mikuni carburetors . /// But I LOVE that old bike , ... Can't seem to prt with her !! I hope you both are doing WELL, down there in sunny, warm Mexico 😎, (It's rather chilly up here in coastal Massachusetts) Rick S.
  • @billw8357
thanks for the video Paul, I have the same generator. Now I won't be scared to work on the carb. Chores done, time to fly the kite. Take care
