You don't actually need to focus the Tulpa's kids immediately, he only absorbs them when he teleports. They only take like 1 or 2 hits when hit with an element, so it's not really a problem when the Tulpa starts absorbing them, so when he teleports, immediately run towards the child and kick it as hard as you can. Then boom, Tulpa gets stunned a bit because his absorption got interrupted.
