The start of our next tour was not very promising. We arrived in Supetar on the island of Brac by ferry and took our bus to Bol. After a short sightseeing trip, we drove to the mountain house Gazul, from where the mountain trail leads to Vidova gora. All this time the clouds were hanging over us and just before the start of the ascent, rain accompanied by thunder poured down. Most of the group decided to give up and take the bus to the top, while a smaller group bravely started on foot. However, when we reached the top, the storm passed and a beautiful view opened up towards Bol and the islands.
Vidova gora is the highest mountain of the Adriatic islands and one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Adriatic. It is 780 m high, and on the highest peak there is a 12-meter-high monumental cross made of white stone from Brac and a telecommunications tower. Especially attractive is Zlatni Rat, a narrow sandy promontory that cuts more than 600 meters into the blue sea like a spike.

Loved the harbour there and looked a real pretty village there. With that rain starting I may well have been part of the bus group but well done to the ones who continued on foot. The views from the top were stunning, real good the clouds parted and give you all that amazing view. Cheers Alan
