On that faithful day he got stuck inside the Census Office in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind while gaming with his brother in their parent's basement and a way of life was forged. For so many years I just assumed Resist Magicka resisted all magicka in some way or another. I never knew it didn't do jack-diddley against elemental spells. You learn something everyday.

I'm a kid and I'm on my first playthru of morrwoind and you've been helping me sm. I'm loving the game so far ;:)

Fun Morrowind fact: Enemies know your resistances. By instinct, I guess. Or Sheo's been spreading rumours. If you enchant your entire wardrobe so that combined you're fully immune to magicka and all elements, no enemy will attempt to cast a spell against you. I may or may not be using a 100x enchantability mod.
  • The best damage is Enchant Damage. Go Breton, get Savior's Hide. Get your enchant up to 100, make an Exquisite Belt with constant effect 5-10 Fortify Enchant. Unquip and re-equip it until you get the +10 Enchant. Now all your cast when used/strike charge costs are reduced to 1. Get a Daedric Towershield. Enchant it with Weakness to Magic 100% for 1 second and 19 feet on Touch and Absorb Health 100 points for 5 seconds and 20 feet on Touch. Damage is calculated during the instance of effect application, so even if Weakness to Magic only has a 1 second duration, it will still double Absorb's damage per tick for all 5 seconds. With a Golden Saint Soul, you get 400 Charges, which amounts to 400 Casts with 110 Enchant skill. Use Almalexia's soul? 1500 casts. Completely unnecessary. Each cast is a nuke that strips magic resistance (but not immunity) and deals 1000 Magic Damage over 5 seconds in a massive area, while healing the caster for 200 Health per second for 5 seconds per enemy hit. Hit 5 targets? Get 1000 Health per second for 5 seconds for 5,000 total. What about enemy reflect effects? No need to worry. Breton + Savior's Hide maxes out your magic resistance, granting you immunity to the spell should it be reflected, as magic immunity prevents weakness to magic from stripping your resistances. The only enemy in the game who is immune to the spell is Gedna Revel; otherwise everyone else is cannon fodder. Tips: This enchantment is insanely expensive should you try to pay for it. Build up a decent restoration skill, make 9 different spells that all Fortify Enchant 100 points for 15 seconds, and stack them before crafting the Shield yourself. With 1010 enchant, even this monster of an enchantment can manage a 100% success ratio.

With the spell effect "Absorb Health" being as broken as it is, I tend not to use destruction spells that much. Who doesn't want a spell that simultaneously heals you and damages the enemy?
  • @candlestyx8517
Poison has one great use, making enemies weaker to other forms of magic. This is amazing when youre playing on higher difficulties
  • There're a few frost damage scrolls at Arrille's Tradehouse, handy for taking down Dark Brotherhood assassins in the early game.
  • @yigitdemir3723
I just started a pure Altmer mage with the atronach stone, who focuses on destruction and conjuration, because I've never really used these two skills before. This video will definitely be useful to me.

Currently playing through morrowind on my series x, only beat the game as a kid using cheats but I’m doing it it legit this time so your videos have been awesome!
  • Honestly, I love keeping a frost damage kit in my back pocket just for dealing with Dunmer. More magicka efficient than shock and works just aswell. Then just swap back to fire.
  • Recently started oblivion after finishing the main story of morrowind (over 100 hours play). Looking forward to your oblivion content.
  • @Phatty-op7lf
Very nice. I was too lazy to figure that stuff out. Too bad we have to wait on other week
  • @Taykoe88
This is why i like being a nord with the dragonbone cuirass. Just gotta watch out for poison and a lil shock.
  • @ashleyshanks6821
I really love fire and electricity, so it's good to know they're the better choices of the elements. Also pretty fond of how ranged fire attacks explode. :D It will cost more, but pairing a spell that causes a weakness to the element you're using with that elemental attack is a good way to bypass natural resistances.
  • @XEN0-M0RPH
I'm 31 I'm still playing this game lol. Never gets old.
  • @jayshaft3179
I also find lightning and fire to be the best combo for a weapon. You need a grand soul gem and high enchantment weapon to get around 20 damage apiece.
  • @maiqtheliar789
Something to add to this. It costs more magic to cast but really helpful to put a weakness to an element part to the spell of a duration of a at least a few seconds. What that will do is make that elemental damage hit a lot harder which means less casts needed to deal with an enemy.Especially effective against undead and fire damage. That added weakness to fire damage shreds undead. Using weakness to element will also remove the immunity so if you want to flex and kill a fire atronauch with a fire spell it is doable.

Only fire has been covered so far, I'm pausing it right now after hearing about the resistance that dark elves have, I already had an idea for what kind of character I want to make, which is basically a light armored throwing-marksman who uses illusion and poison magic (with spear as a final backup to keep things at a distance) Edit: Life isn't fair, but I don't care, I'm sticking with my poison magic + Thrower build
