Just wanted to say I really hope Tom keeps making music with words and lyrics that touch a place in the heart and mind. We need more truth in the world before it all comes to a terrible conclusion. As a 31yo, member of a generation that has a bunch of tattoos and piercings all over, I just want to thank you all in the comments (especially the older folk) for not fixating on that and just appreciating the talent. I've met tons of people that always say something like "what a clown, look at that shit on his face" and disregard everything about a person just because of that. I didn't know Tom, just got this video recommended to me and I'm glad Youtube decided to do that, what a song.

Great song. Ive been a huge comic nerd all my life and when I heard this song i started to tear up cuz ive been asking, "where is this world's super hero. We need Superman." For a while. Thanks Tom. And thank you to all those who fight for my freedom. My great grandfather served in WW2. He was my Superman. He was always kind, playful and fun. When i was younger and dealing with my parents divorce my Gramps said to me, "Life can hurt really bad sometimes. But always remember, you are a hero to someone." I have never forgotten those words. Omg I’m freaking balling my eyes out. What a great Marine Corps birthday and Veteran’s day song! What a tribute to those who fought and fight for our country. From a retired Marine’s wife and my son who is a officer in the ARMY thank you for always trying to bring awareness to those who deserve gratitude, they need to know even more right now that they didn’t waste their minds, bodies and families for such disrespectful little brats that have done nothing but burn our country down or they believe that rules don’t apply to them because that’s how they’re being raised to believe. Thank you for showing all these cry babies what the American dream is all about. They all say “he’s not even American” well exactly it’s how he is proving that the American dream is about hard work and dedication and determination.
