Pokémon games are often filled with wonder, and that can even spill over into when the game is officially done, leaving us with the "postgame." However these extra bits of life squeezed into the games can vary wildly in how fun or relevant they are, so let's rank every version of the Pokémon postgame across the years and see where they've really made it an effort and where they kind of forgot to include anything...

HG/SS is the gold standard for what postgame in the pokemon series could be. Its depressing to see how after all these years we still havent seen a region be added into a postgame again, or fighting past protagonists as a final boss. Sinnoh being linked with Johto would've been a perfect time for that.

16:15 I cannot overstate how badly I want this to return. The DexNav is amongst my favorite mechanics from ORAS as we can see the Nav so we can recatch the same Pokémon over and over. This came in real handy with Pokémon like Eevee that have multiple forms and are rare encounters.

content wise bw2 will always be my first pick with HGSS right after, but gotta mention the rainbow rocket in ultra sun and moon - it was so fun, creative and suprisingly dark and I enjoyed every moment of it

Emerald also has a opptional Steven fight, so you get to fight 2 chamions

As much as I love the Delta Episode, I've played through ORAS too many times so until the ending it feels like "fly here and talk to him, fly here and battle her" over and over. That being said I do love it

Emerald also has the johto addition to the safari zone which is a fun surprise as well as the smearhle cave and sudowoodo easter egg in the battle frontier which is reall cool in my opinion

B&W2's postgame is probably the most enjoyable for me. Rematching significant characters like Cynthia, N, Hugh, Colress, former rivals Cheren & Bianca? Check. A side activity in Pokestar studios that lets u make wacky & fun movies (& depending on ur performance can have different endings)? Check. Combat gaunlets (of which there're 4 of 'em in Pwt, subway, institute & white tree/black tower)? Double check. It just provides close to everything what I want & do after credits roll. Not to mention all the optional content available during the main game that u may have forgotten to do or skipped out on.

I’m mostly just training various species of my Pokémon to level 100 during the post-games of my 3 DS/3DS device games and my Switch game.

Great video! The PWT was so fun. As a middle school/high school student learning the piano and music theory, I loved all of the remixes of the gym leaders themes. I loved learning how to play the gen 5 songs on piano.

I really think the Sinnoh post game is incredibly underrated. Considering you have a whole post game island to explore with its own quest, the battle frontier, your own villa to upgrade, full gym leader and elite four rematches. You also have the underground and contests which have a lot of replayability.

Bro did Emerald dirty.😂 It definitely deserved much higher than my opinion. Don't forget the gym rematches were in that too.

Platinum having you buy a Villa was my introduction to an Animal Crossing like experience

I honestly think I was kinda blessed with ORAS. They were my favourite games growing up and i replayed them so much. But also being able to trade all mons via internet and collect all of the legendaries was just such a joy to do. I even caught my first few shinies there (first was the Luxray in my profile pic) with the dexnav and it was so much fun. Truly love these games.

Why was SV postgame so high? Imo its postgame is worse than X/Y story/stuff to do wise same with SM
  • Although I would place BW2 over USUM, I gotta respect the rainbow rocket thing. Giving Ghetsis a chance to try and assault a child again is brave. Edit: FOR THE 3RD TIME

I've learned so much from this video! There are so many cool things I had no idea were in some of these games! Even though i've played all these games, it still feels like I have a whole generation to go back and play! This was a really cool and intresting video, thanks! I also found myself agreeing with almost all your opinions so this was also kind of relatable.

I’m happy to hear someone speak so highly of US/UM. According to Nintendo’s sales reports, USUM did the worst in sales. From XY’s release in 2013 to SWSH’s release in 2019, USUM did the worst and I took that to believe that people liked the originals. I was baffled by that because I feel like USUM offers more context during both the main game and the post game
