New York-based tech company Clearview AI is working to identify and compile the faces of every human being on the planet. The firm claims that its database will serve as a force for good, helping to solve crimes and prevent espionage. But what if Clearview AI’s powerful facial recognition software, that could potentially be used for mass surveillance and profiling, fell into the wrong hands? What if it already has? FRANCE 24’s Jessica Le Masurier and Romeo Langlois have this special report. In collaboration with ARIJ (Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism).

  • Another guy making money off of everyone without their consent through social media content haha
  • A justice system that doesnt make mistakes is a good thing. It's just that there are too many human beings who don't appreciate that a free society is better than a controlled society.

I was in the DOLLAR TREE the other day and I looked up at the camera monitor, which took a picture of my face, and a red square appeared around it. "Facial Recognition" is everywhere. 👀
  • Michael Jackson couldn't go anywhere without being recognized. Welcome to his world..

This video does a great job of connecting the dots.
  • well it plays to the fact of narcissism of many people for selfies to be on-line....be it on them for use of those images....
  • Images collected without permission or buried in lengthy terms and conditions that are updated regularly across numerous sights. Worse you have to opt out, but cannot if you are in a group photo without your knowledge.
  • Oh good so there’s one guy who makes sure everything is ethical. I’m sure every single person who takes over that role will do that and no unethical things will ever be done with the technology.
  • Imagine calling yourself a man after going to a conference like this, literally begging to get photographed and then shoving a camera in a 5 ft 3 woman's face while trying to play gotcha @40:35 Lying through omission and disingenuous journalism. I 99.99% guarantee he is the same type of guy that identifies as "a huge feminist" but goes around acting like this.
