There needs to be a rock and roll hall of fame section for guitar teachers

ive been learning guitar for two days now and this man is a true blessing 😭🙏

I know that Marty says this is for beginners but it is really for anyone who plays. I see alot of people who have been playing for a long time that could use work and practice on the strumming (me included). Kevin O'Rourke

Seeing the video start with CCR rhythm is definitely going to attract my interest! A very informative lesson I believe!

Hey Marty, thank you for the Beginner Guitar Strumming Patterns that we must know. Greatly Appreciated! I was reading an article in the May 2020 Guitar Player magazine on Celisse Henderson. She mentioned she was learning guitar and that she searched 12 bar blues on YouTube and found great videos by you. You should be very proud of how much you have inspired and helped so many guitarist reach their potential. Although for me, My goal is to just to have my that my wife not cringe when I play :-). If you did not see the article, let me know and I can send you a PDF copy.

You could release 13:00 onwards as a Tenacious D bonus track and no questions would be asked 😂 — seriously though, so grateful for these videos. I’m 4 days in and my fingers HURT but I am HOOKED and playing some of my favourite songs already thanks to your beginner chord videos, and now this video’s got me feeling like a rockstar - thank you so much!

Hey Marty, I just want to say as a player who's probably at the half way point between immediate and advanced, this is really great to go back to basics every now and then. Strumming patterns are something people really should start adding to their day to day practice routines. Alot of people who follow your channel and been playing for a number of years will probably overlook this strumming pattern video because its just a case of "Ahh nah I dont need to see his videos on basics" But i really appreciated this one alot, strumming patterns isn't something i've really practiced hard at, it seems to just come naturally to me as i'm learning songs or just mucking around, but I think i might start adding these patterns to my practice routine. Thanks a bunch man, be great to see some more videos on blues licks in the near future too. Thanks Marty, Stay safe Brutha!!!

He is such a gift to beginners. He sharing his knowledge is so wonderful. God Bless him.

Anyone else think he had a smoke break somewhere in the middle of this video? Lol. Number 3 is actually number 4. Number 5 is all over the place. He starts out down up down then switches to down down down. Lol still a great video! Best guitar teacher on YouTube

I am a lefty that just picked up a guitar. I had a real dilemma deciding whether I should learn lefty or righty but I decided right. My right hand feels so clumsy uncoordinated trying to strum but I’m pushing though. This video has been a huge help for me. Thank you!

I've been playing for just a few years now and I'd say at least half of what I know how to play is because of Marty Schwartz! Thank you Marty! You are great at breaking things down!
  • @pamdiaz7022
Awesome lesson! I often feel it’s my right hand that needs so much more work than the left. Thank you!
  • I’ve been playing for awhile but never got the Handel on strumming so this is very helpful
  • @at_austin2792
For the strum pattern at 00:25 I immediately thought of Jack Johnson! Edit: Welp, you just confirmed haha
  • I've been playing with guitar for many years. Lots of books and scales...None of those books mentioned strumming patterns. I knew I was missing something. My music was all sounding the same. Then I realized I strummed everything basically the same. So I've been looking to widen my strumming repertoire and of course, there you are with the help. I love all your videos. Thank you sooooo much 😁
