Pokemon Mods Did The Impossible

It’s crazy that the Pokémon Company would rather sue these modders than HIRE them and let them work to the best of their ability.

The non chibi player mod does look interesting, it's also convenient that all trainer NPCs have non chibi battle models. Only issue are the NPCs that don't battle, they probably don't have alt models.

This is one reason I like companies like Sega for acknowledging and even giving modders a chance to make an official game.

This community just probably pulled off the greatest "Fine, I'll do it myself" ever. The REAL problem with BDSP is they didn't give me the opportunity to be the champion of Sinnoh. I mean let's be honest, if my champion throne room was decorated with missiles and Dennis Rodman was playing the piano, you'd be scared of me

It's honestly baffling to see fans doing a better job than the highest-grossing franchise in the world. I'm amazed at the progress they've made, it's going so fast. Huge kudos to Team Luminescent, you guys are awesome.

Bruh, I would literally PAY FULL PRICE(that I paid for Pokemon games) to the modding community because of how GOOD they make everything. They're the ones who deserve money

My fav part about being a 3D model creator is that the "disappears into the night" part after showing our progress is completely accurate.

The non-chibi trainer looks great to the point that I'm upset it wasn't in the base game. Immediately bumps immersion up

So glad to see Barry's stomping animation again. While it was something small, it felt like it added so much to his character. I'll never understand why it wasn't added.

BDSP using unity was a godsend to all the modders in the pokemon community

Seeing how fast the BDSP romhacking scene is advancing makes me feel old considering I still develop a GBA Pokemon romhack. Looking forward for new updates about these fellas do.

The scene with giratina on the spear pillar makes me so mad the potential bdsp could have had!

i really hope luminescent, true size and full dex all work together. that would be an experience. also non chibi characters would make this whole game something id actually play

The Darkrai mod looks amazing! It felt to me like I was actually looking at Darkrai and not a 3D imaginary fictional creature

Having the games made with Unity opened up such untapped potential. Conversely RPGMaker will release their Unity plugin sometime this year still, which means we may come to see fan games that look as good as this pretty soon, the fact that the assets can easily be copied into a standalone project with no relation will also greatly speed up the production process of these fan games. Pokemon Essentials marked a golden era for fan games, with GF even taking many ideas that originated in those to later incorporate in their official releases, but the modding/fan game maker community will be really foolish if they do not pick up on that potential. Heck, even without an RPGMaker plugin, Unity already makes so much greater things possible, but since people have mostly stuck with RPGMaker this plugin is a blessing that will hopefully bridge the gap.

5:22 dang, I added a grand total of 405 dittos only for these guys to make the dittos not look like dittos?? but come on! ditto's so cool!!

I honestly find it hilarious that people were running around saying “I don’t mind the Chibis” yet this was the most requested feature. To this, I say Bravo. Seeing that Platinum scene halfway through was beautiful!

The fact fans make stuff like this possible without a budget, is just insane, this should be the base game. Game freak should just let fans make remakes from now on
