Roryā€™s the type of person that you hoped the others were like, but sadly heā€™s one of the the very few.

How refreshing to hear someone in British politics frankly list their failures and concerns. I havent finished listening yet but felt moved to comment. This man should form his own party and become PM. Nice one Rory. Im not a Conservative but I would vote for you .

Iā€™m 83 and have endured 16 Prime Ministers and whatever this guyā€™s flaws the fact that the Tories preferred Boris Johnson to Rory Stewart speaks volumes for their judgment. What a missed opportunity for this war torn country.

i'm not so partisan as much these days, but Stewart is probably the only tory i've developed a deep affection and admiration for in recent years. i hope he sticks with us. more of his kind please

I'm a man and I listened to this. Not once did I think about the fact it was being presented by two women until they mentioned it... so I suspect there's many like me, and its a non-issue, for both the Times and The Rest is Politics.

Iā€™m a Labour supporter and Iā€™ll vote for Rory as PM tomorrow given a chance.

Love listening to Rory. We may not agree on his voting record. But canā€™t deny he puts thought into the choices he makes. And wants to generally improve peopleā€™s lives. A book I will definitely be reading.

Rory is about the only Tory I can stand listening to. He comes across as an honest, decent man that knows his strengths and limitations. He's worth 10x more than the attention seeking Johnson and co.

I've been listening to Jane and Fi for decades on BBC 5Live. Rory is too good for politics, which is a shame as that's exactly where we need people like him.
  • There are very few mp's that are seemingly sincere, likeable, have a history in the forces and diplomacy, and are popular with voters from both major parties. He ticks the boxes, and it's a damn shame he wasn't pm. I feel he would have been very good in the role and, at the very least, would have taken it seriously.

This was an exceptional interview. Fi probing and informed, Rory searingly honest and interesting.
  • State schools should be so good that people wouldn't consider wasting 14K per term sending their kids to a private school.

Highly recommend his podcast with Alistair and hearing Rory's viewpoint. Dont agree with everything he says. He was right about Johnson.

What an interesting and intelligent man ,Rory Stewart is.

Shows the difference between you and he. He is concerned for his country, he wants to give, create, heal and build whereas you can't see past yourself. The division in our nation is perfectly illustrated here. The people like Rory seemingly fighting a losing battle because the selfish motives of the ignorant bring chaos and a myriad of harms. So tragic
  • @BillOdyssey
He could've given Boris a little karate chop when no one was looking?
  • @danmayberry1185
A glance at the opposing benches does make me pine for Rory.
  • @harrygray1301
Rory ,join the Labour party and take the leadership.

Iā€™ve got a strong sense that having Rory at one despatch box and Andy Burnham at the other might move British Politics forward.
