After this team lost, the coach had words for the umpire. I'd be so embarrassed of my kid's coach acted like this.

and you wonder why there is an umpire shortage and you wonder why kids think its ok to yell at umpires too....
  • The ump did a fabolous job of maintaining his cool and keeping his composure. Kudos to him!

Somebody didn’t make his little league all star team… and that person wasn’t the ump.
  • Loved that the plate umpire came to help. He was between the coach and the field umpire. If you can't control your emotions, please don't coach. I have such a good relationship with many of the players, it is the best part of the game and why I celebrated my 20th year of umpiring. When a parent on the sidelines tells me they have video to show I tell them to call new York and have them take a look.

I'll just say this: sports brings out 100% of who you are.

a lot at stake at all these travel tournaments... championship T-shirts and plastic rings for the players and a chance to post on the teams website... you know, life changing stuff...

I grew up in the 80s, played all these sports not once did any Coach or Player yell at another Coach or Umpire. We had class, discipline and above all else, great parents. Where is that today?

Awwww! I would be mad too if my team showed up with the best uniforms, $500 bats and $200 cleats just to get swept.

    1) Correct that there was no tag. As #71 correctly states to the camera as he comes onto the field, the umpire ruled the baserunner to have left the base path in an effort to avoid the tag. 2) The reason umpires will eject coaches/players after the game is over (but before they've left the field) is that most, if not all, leagues have rules about missing subsequent games upon ejection. So, at 0:40 when the coach says, "we're done anyway," he's partially correct. The game is over and there is no consequence for ejection in the moment. But, next game, he'll be watching from the parking lot.

The greatest problem in kids sports...parents. Guaranteed if the "bad call" was in his son's team's favour he wouldn't be yelling. 😅
  • I've been youth baseball coach kids 3 years kids age 8/9/10...you represent respectful manhood where who 'wins' the game isn't nearly as important as positive experiences for each and every kid. Confidence building..fun..joy of competition...smiles. I've seen plenty guys like this jerk..sad
  • I was umpiring behind the plate at a Little League game. The coach in the third base dugout loudly and sneeringly objected to nearly every pitch I called. At the end of the third inning, I’d had enough and walked to the dugout and told the coach, “I’ve heard enough of your insults and trash talk, so if I hear one more word from you, you will spend the rest of the game watching from your car in the parking lot.” At the next inning, the opposing coach came to me and asked what I said. I told him. He then asked if I knew who that rude coach was. Nope. “He is the league’s commissioner.” “Then he should know better than to act like that.” I replied.

Your runner got caught sleeping, take it like a man
  • Coaches like that are why I dropped out of Little League and just played Sandlot Ball with my Friends
  • @prmath
Talking like that in front of kids and their moms……. He should be deleted from the league as a coach…..Forever‼️
  • @javtimestwo
While yelling the coach had his voice crack multiple times 😂

I'm proud of this umpire. Based on the coach's comments this wasn't the first time he dealt with the guy who peaked in high school. He didn't engaged and threw him out. Another poster asked why if the game is over? Because as long as you're on the field or the park, you're under the umpires rule.
