My top ten favorite cereal mascots

Published 2020-09-13
Just something different from my regular “how to” videos. My other passion in life is vintage ‘kid food’ packaging - specifically cereal boxes from the ’60s and ‘70s.

Here is a list of MY top ten favorite cereal mascots. My list may be quite different from the usual “top cereal mascot favorites”. See if any of your favorites are on there!

P.S. You can still buy Quisp today: amzn.to/35yraaP

  • Grins & Smiles & Giggles and Laughs had the Best prizes! I’ve misplaced all mine now, which hurts my heart. Quisp, is my all time favorite cereal though. theCrafsman sent me over. Glad he did!

Sugar Bear is definitely one of my favorite!

Agree. 1960s and 70s illustration and design were the best. As good as it gets. Especially in things geared toward children. There’s so much legal crap that has to be included these days … it just junks things up — food and toy packaging. I loved seeing your lesser known mascots. I have to be boring and go with my childhood favorite — QUISP! Thanks for all of the great content. — GulliblesBabbles / Tod

Very fun video. I debuted in 64 so I ate several of these cereals with an island of sugar mounded in the middle. Thanks for bringing back some tasty memories. Freakies were my favorite. Crafsman sent me.

Very well done, DCB! Sugar Bear and Frankenberry would certainly be in my top 10 list, too.

He-Man/MOTU was in fact one of the first cartoons to take advantage of President Ronald Regan’s repeal of that FCC regulation, allowing all merchandising hell to break loose upon ‘80s kids everywhere. And it was glorious 😁

My favourite as a boy in the early seventies was Klondike Pete, a gold prospector who mines Golden Nuggets - which was the cereal. I moved to Alabama in '75 and Froot Loops were an eye-opener as they weren't yet available in England. If you want to check out some vintage British psychedelic influenced cartoon fun try "Crystal Tipps and Alistair". Yea Crafsman.
  • @crocoboxer
Vanilly Crunch was my favorite. I wish they would make it again.
  • @manko8852
Count Chocula was my favorite. Sugar Bear was good too.
  • @Voirreydirector
Frankenberry, Count Chocula and Booberry. What a wonderful world.

Qwisp, I remember eating like 50 boxes of that cereal so I could send in to get a plastic figure maybe a foot high.
  • @blueghost4121
Where does the curtain design come from? Looks very early 70sm
  • @underdog1117
Great list ,,, but if you ask me quisp should be number one.
