I know that it sounds tricky but it’s quite simple. Remember the last time you felt certain about something? What was it that made you feel that way? You probably got certain the moment you focused on the things you control, didn’t you?
By opposition, have you ever noticed that when you focus on the things you can’t control (and that potentially cause you more pain), you end up doing nothing? It happens to me too and to a lot of other people.
Here’s what makes the difference and that actually helps people take action. A plan of action that they can agree that will help them — move from where they are (painful problem) towards where they want to be (desired goal).
