I honestly think the bathroom looks really good. The whole house has a coastal vibe, and the floor tiles in the bathroom actually look like sand when paired with that blue tile, so it's like a beach-themed bathroom!
  • This build gives me real house energy. Most people's homes are full of hand me downs and random stuff. We don't get to choose everything we own, and some stuff is good enough, or never gets replaced. It's weirdly ordinary and that's kinda cool!

I feel like this house is owned by an old couple who mostly know what they want for their design but aren’t quite on the same page. So, like when the wife said she wanted pops of red, her husband was just like, “okay.” And painted the flower boxes bright red

I would love to see them do this challenge again, but without the intermittent reveals. Leaving the reveal to the very end would be much more chaotic. Loved the built in bench in the bedroom, I'll need to steal that hack for my own builds!

What about an "everything is not what it seems" challenge? Where you try to use as many things for something that is not their intended use, have hidden rooms, secret gardens, etc.

The bathroom looks good. The floors and the walls look mismatched in such a way that makes me like it more than if it was matched.

22:52 i really think the yellow and blue adds to the coastal/beach vibe. Like, the yellow floor tiles is the sand and the blue wall tiles is the ocean or sky. Loved this build, it was surprisingly cohesive!!
  • @moozycarrots
I love that there are actually different colours around. A show home would have everything matching - a lived place is eclectic!
  • Honestly love the bathroom and the random pops of red, especially because they're random house objects like a picnice basket and crackpot. It's cute

Them: If the siding is the same grey as the grass it should be green! Me: winces in the difference between hue and value

New challenge idea!!!!! For each room you spin the wheel and what number you get is the swatch number you have to use for each item in that room, you also do this in black and white so you can’t see the room until you’re done!

I really like how it turned out. It feels really "lived in", but not in a bad way. Do you have any pieces of furniture, knicknacks, or rugs/blankets that don't match ANYTHING in your house, but you either love where you got it or who gave it to you so you can't just toss it? That's what this feels like to me... except the bathroom, but i love beige and blue so...
  • @Kaleboat
This entire home just gives off “Grandmas house” in such a nostalgic way 🤍

There is a pop of red in every room: the soap in the shower, the basket, the pot, and the flower boxes. Honestly my favorite room is the bathroom because I think it embraces the Coastal vibes you wanted with the blue walls and items and the yellow because it looks like sand

I like the yellow floor and blue walls in the bathroom. It's like sand and water. Also the blue chairs in the kitchen just work! Surprise color combos you may never have thought to use, but they look good.

I love how the build came out, even the color scheme in the whole house was somehow cohesive. The coastal vibes are actually giving beach 💅especially the bedroom and bathroom with the tan tiled floor looking like sand⛱. Down to the pinks and red sprinkled around unexpectedly looked really cute. You Both did Awesome Keep it Up!!! Been following for at least a year 💕 Been here before 1 mil!!🎉🎉🎉
  • I actually really like the yellow floor in the bathroom, looks like sand at the bottom of a reef, the only room i don't like color wise is the outside but you guys did amazing!
  • @andreamercier393
The way the house only kinda matches but has a cohesive blue-yellow-red theme feels like a very lived in place! Maybe 60 years ago it matched perfectly but time has replaced the collection little by little as life went on. In that way its perfect!

A colour theory lesson: (also yes i know Americans spell is color) So the different levels of greys you see, from black to dark white, to white and light gray, aren't different because of the colour. (For example, when they tried to match the outside wall with the green grass, it wouldnt work because the shade of grey you see has nothing to do with the colour and everything to do with the *value*.) Value is how light, or how dark a colour is, so when removing all colour, you can only see the shade of how much lightness or darkness is in it. This is actually a really smart way to decorate a room, testing the values to see if two values work together is smart, rather than just seeing the colour. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk.

This looks like an actual house and the green and white is something that alot of the older houses have especially in my town. It looks like it was a house that accumulated its furniture over time that the wife brought in honestly even if the colors don’t match or work 💯 i like it 😊
