“This is Sparta”, Leonidas said calmly.
-
The most iconic lines are the ones where the actor fully becomes the character
-
The kick is what sells that delivery. Imagine if Leonidas yelled, "THIS IS SPARTA!!!" and then just stood there awkwardly staring at the guy.
-
Props to Zack for recognising an epic delivery and recording that last moment.
-
Butler: "Let me try one more" Guy getting kicked for 3 times in a row: o_o
-
The kick after the Sparta though. Totally matched the fierceness.
-
Gotta love Gerard Butler. He f***ing sold that line in the movie.
-
This set the tone for the entire movie. Legend
-
So he's the reason why that line is so iconic.
-
Of course Zac Synder liked that take 😂
-
One of the most iconic lines in cinema history 😂
-
I've watched this movie at least 100 times. One of the greatest movies ever.
-
It’s hard to imagine it any different now haha
-
Gerard: "THIS IS SPARTA!!" Zack: "THAT WAS SMARTA!!"
-
Fun fact: Once a Spartan man reached the age of 30, he was allowed to start a family. He was expected to remain physically fit throughout adulthood; he served in the military and continued to receive training until age 60. Only then was he allowed to retire from military service. All Spartan men trained and served as warriors.

True story. Saturday night down the pub. Man stands on a table and the place was packed. Shouts Spartans! What is your profession! Every man in there replied "ahu, ahu, ahu". Beer went flying everywhere. Epic film
-
My favorite line from 300 is "I'm just going on a walk with my 300 bodyguards"
-
Gerald saying to Zach, "That was too much." And Zach replying with, "Yeah! But it was awesome." Pretty much sums up the whole movie itself.
-
You know Synder (like most of us guys) is just an 8-year old in a grown mans body when he goes: "YEAH, BUT IT WAS AWESOME!"
-
and still one of the most underrated movies ever....
